Resilient Retreat empowers survivors of trauma to thrive through self-care and community. Resilient Retreat envisions a world without trauma and abuse.
Resilient Retreat is dedicated to empowering those who have experienced trauma and abuse as well as first responders, helping professionals and those who experience vicarious trauma/compassion fatigue through their work. Resilient Retreat has been pilot testing a variety of programs since it began in 2018. Those programs have included: neurofeedback, equine therapy, a variety of support groups, empowerment-based workshops, expressive arts therapies, bibliotherapy, yoga, meditation, animal assisted therapies, nutrition workshops, etc. Since we began piloting programs, we have served over 200 survivors in their journey toward healing their minds, bodies and spirits. Additionally, through a variety of trainings and workshops, Resilient Retreat has helped over 459 community members. Data collected to date from program participants has shown a 36% decrease in depression, a 41% reduction in suicidal thoughts, a 48% increase in emotional clarity, a 39% increase in improved sleep, and a 91% decrease in days of work missed due to stress.Resilient Retreat is building an 18,000 square foot retreat center on 84 acres of preserved land, where survivors and first responders/helping professionals will be hosted for 3-5 day retreats, where they will have the opportunity to sample a wide range of evidence-based programs, to see what is most helpful and resonates most with the participants of the retreat. The retreat is expected to be fully operational in Spring 2022. The Retreat Center will also hold a variety of day and evening programming for survivors of trauma, first responders, teachers, medical professionals, mental health professionals, advocates, and social workers so that we can meet the needs of the local community.
