Organizations Filed Purposes:
St. Petersburg Preservation, a/k/a Preserve the 'Burg, educates, advocates and celebrates for what keeps St. Petersburg special. With walking tours, Movies in the Park, lectures and panel discussions, porch parties, and Preservation Awards, residents and visitors are educated about and celebrate the unique historical, cultural and architectural resources of the city and are encouraged to advocate to protect those resources to keep St. Petersburg special.
Weekly movies in the park during October and May approximately 6,750 people attended. The event promotes the preservation and civic use of the city waterfront park systems, educates participants about the importance of the original preserved parks system and future parks. Further develop grassroots preservation interest for parks and historic settings.
Educational forums are held throughout the year and focus on growth, preserving historic buildings, tax incentives, and the citys development history. Approximately 800 people attended each session.
