Organizations Filed Purposes:
To advance the understanding and use of membrane technology to treat municipal, industrial, commercial, agricultural and waste waters.
CONFERENCES AND WORKSHOPS: The Corporation sponsors an Annual Technology Conference which is structured to promote information exchange on all aspects of membrane filtration and water use as well as exhibits on new technology and formal recognition of outstanding contributions to the industry.The Corporation conducts technical workshops and regional training seminars throughout the United States. Sessions focus on legislative and regulatory matters, legal and management issues, funding, membrane technology, regional and federal grassroots lobbying, and other important topics.
PUBLIC OUTREACH: The Corporation directs public education and relations activities, which include interfacing with key press, policy makers, organizations and public officials to promote membrane technology awareness throughout the United States. Public outreach activities are an integral part of the regular function of the Corporation and are necessary in such things as conferences, educational workshops, seminars and legislative and regulatory advocacy as described later. The outreach program is not, however, limited to those items. The program also includes the following items that reach the national and international marketplace; Promoting the Corporations goals and objectives by exhibiting at other trade and professional organization conferences, Assisting in the development and production of articles and papers for outside journals and publications, Researching the need and feasibility of publishing other industry guides, Providing a website for both members and nonmembers, Developing and printing a source journal for all members, Providing a newsletter for all members, and Providing scholarships to students involved in membrane research and/or operators seeking advanced degrees.
LEGISLATIVE AND REGULATORY ADVOCACY: The Corporation is the nations leading advocate for membrane technology and represents membrane filtration interests before the U.S. Congress, Federal regulatory agencies and the media.
