Organizations Filed Purposes:
The Florida City and County Management Association is a professional organization of practicing public administrators from throughout Florida local governments. The Association was chartered in 1946 as a non-profit corporation to elevate professionalism among the state's 477 cities and counties, and to promote the council-manager form of government as the form that advances the highest ethical and professional standards.
FCCMA partners with the Center for Florida Local Government Excellence (CFLGE) to develop and produce the content and training programs that FCCMA's monthly webinars and fall and spring symposiums are founded on. FCCMA's members are able to register for these webinars and symposiums throughout the year and provide educational opportunities and address areas of interest relating to Florida's city and county managers. Separate registrations are required for each of these webinars and symposiums.
FCCMA's Annual Conference, typically held in May each year, was cancelled in 2020 due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
Winter Institute - The FCCMA Winter Institute is designed to be an intense, interactive workshop for Florida's city and county managers and assistants. Using a facilitator, panels, small and large group discussion, participants are called upon to analyze the challenges that are occurring and are forecast to occur in five to twenty years. 102 members attended this event.
