Organizations Filed Purposes:
The mission of TBBCA is to unite businesses to champion arts and culture for a prosperous community. TBBCA is one of the national Business Committees for the Arts, and part of the national pARTnership movement andprivate sector network of Americans for the Arts.
Charlie Hounchell Art Stars Scholarship Program awarded seven talent and merit based scholarships ($2,500 each - totaling $17,500) to seven high school students for financial tuition assistance for higher education in the arts at college, university, conservatory of student's choice; awards ceremony and talent showcase of student recipients held in May.
Chalk Walk Program presented three free art festivals to the community and commissioned artists with an artist's stipend for their participation. The three TBBCA Chalk Walks were held in downtown Tampa, the Riverwalk, and eastern Hillsborough County.
Cultural Encounters Program presented free events average 2x monthly with arts and cultural organizations in Hillsborough County and Pinellas County to help raise awareness and expand audiences (drawing hundreds of participants) and provide introductions to the arts and cultural organizations and their programming and to individual artists, and included support for prose and poetry events.
