Heart to Honduras partners with churches, educational and civic organizations, individuals and businesses to help the Honduran people realize their potential and develop gifted and capable local leaders to become agents of change who will transform their world for Jesus Christ.
Heart to Honduras pairs sister churches creating partnerships between US and Central American churches. In 2019, 14 churches in Honduras participated in this mutually beneficial relationship. They also provided support to the pastors and families, and leadership training to develop strong community relationships.
23 North American teams involving 244 people traveled to Central America to serve alongside local churches and individuals. These teams worked constructing homes, water cisterns, washtubs and building improvements. They provided medical assistance, cared for the needs of community members, trained leaders, and engaged in relationships that will help the locals identify their own resources and potential. Heart to Honduras arranges travel, lodging and meals through Honduran partner Corazon Para Honduras. Health care professionals saw more than 1,000 patients and provided services worth $69,000
Heart to Honduras (through Corazon Para Honduras) is equipping communities with sustainable models of work and development to provide clean water, secure housing, accessible medical care, a consistent food supply, adequate fair employment, as well as spiritual and educational opportunities. In 2019, Heart to Honduras built or improved 29 homes, improved community sanitation and infrastructure, assisted in building or improving 4 schools and 11 churches. Over 16,000 people benefitted from these transformative iniatives.
