To promote positive interaction of parents and their newborn to enhance normal child development.
The TLC Newborn program provides counseling, training and support services to new parents during the first twelve months of life by providing current best practice baby care and parenting information; by promoting understanding of infant growth and development through individualized contact with TLC Family Associates. The TLC Newborn program is a locally funded community based initiative and is available to all families of newborns who reside in Indian River County.
Healthy Families is an evidence-based, voluntary home visiting program that provides quality counseling and training services to families assessed as being at risk for child abuse and neglect. Funded through a contract between Indian River County Healthy Start Coalition, Inc. and the Ounce of Prevention Fund of Florida and nationally accredited from Healthy Families America, the program aims to prevent the incidence of child abuse and neglect, enhance parents ability to create stable and nurturing home environments, and promote child health and development.
