Promote, protect and represent the educational, social and business interest of farmers of the county and to enhance the future of agriculture.
Indian River County Farm Bureau actively supports local schools. The county presented information about contemporary agriculture and its benefits with the local community. Students were read this year's reading recommended book 'These Florida Farms!' to the local magnet school for Ag Literacy Day.
Indian River County Farm Bureau participated in the mini grant program which provides funding to certified Florida educators who are engaged in classroom instruction at the pre-K to 12th grade levels. The mini-grant program encourages educators to incorporate agriculture into their curriculum.
We held the district speech contest at our office. The purpose of this contest is to promote stronger interest and clearer understanding of the many aspect of agriculture; to provide opportunities for our youth to gain knowledge, appreciation, and understanding of agriculture; and help to promote agricultures many values and virtues.
