THE PRIMARY EXEMPT PURPOSE OF CAREERSOURCE PALM BEACH COUNTY, INC. IS CRAFTING AND OVERSEEING A WORKFORCE DEVELOPMENT STRATEGY THAT IS RESPONSIVE TO THE NEEDS AND CONCERNS OF EMPLOYERS AND JOB SEEKERS.
DEPARTMENT OF LABOR - WORKFORCE INNOVATION AND OPPORTUNITY ACT (WIOA)- ADULT AND DISLOCATED WORKER 2019-2020 CareerSource PBC had 511 active Adult and Dislocated Workers who received career services, training services and various types of assessments to assist them with career choices during the 2019-2020 Program Year. Of those individuals, 448 were new recipients of individual training accounts (ITAs), with encumbrances totaling $1,983,053.83. In addition, 33 participants were enrolled in the On-the-Job Training (OJT) program for a total of $203,476.45 reimbursed to employers. Of the 100 individuals who were scheduled to complete their training during this program year, 89% did so. A total of 191 WIOA Adult and Dislocated Workers exited the program with a positive outcome of employment.
DEPARTMENT OF LABOR - WORKFORCE INVESTMENT OPPORTUNITY ACT (WIOA) - YOUTH 2019 - 2020 CareerSource Palm Beach County's Young Adult program serves young adults ages 17 - 24. Our program includes career exploration, financial literacy, leadership training, soft skills training, paid work experiences and more. The program also provides young adults valuable training in hospitality, food handling and Microsoft Office. Upon successful completion of the trainings and passing of exams, program clients are awarded credentials which will increase their employability when competing for job opportunities in our communities. During Program Year 2019-2020, the department enrolled 209 new program participants with 86 young adults participating in internships. Collectively, there were 315 credentials earned. Also, the department recorded placements for 266 clients and issued 5 training scholarships in the amount of $65,782.25.
DEPARTMENT OF HEALTH AND HUMAN SERVICES - TEMPORARY ASSISTANCE FOR NEEDY FAMILIES (TANF) - PROGRAM YEAR 2019 - 2020. CareerSource PBC had 2,168 open TANF cases throughout the program year, and 872 or 40.2% were work engaged. Region 21 achieved 42.6% for the Entered Employment Rate for the fiscal year, ranking #3 in the state out of 24 regions, and $12.54 entered Employment Wage Rate, which is a $1.07 increase from last year. We ranked #1 in the state for both All Family Participation Rate at 40.6% and Two-Parent Participation Rate at 36.7%.
