Organizations Filed Purposes: Seagull Industries for the Disabled, is also known as Seagull Services, enriches lives through provision of quality special education, residential care, vocational training, employment services, advocacy and opportunities for social and community activities as well as other supportive services designed to promote achievement, self reliance, economic independence and realization of their life potential.

Seagull Industries for the Disabled, Inc. is also known as Seagull Services, helps adults and students with disabilities find success and fulfillment in their lives. As Seagull Services begins its 40th year, the mission remains true: to assist people to live in dignity and realize their life potential through education, training, employment, residential services, transportation and support services. People are assisted primarily throughout the greater Palm Beach and Martin County areas.

Community and Facility-based Day Program:Adults with significant disabilities, ages ranging from ages 22 to over 70, are offered life enhancing goal directed day programming, supported employment and/or shelter work to meet the needs and desires of the individuals served. Programming varies from paid work, basic education, vocational and pre-vocational activities in stimulating facility-based or community settings geared to maintaining and increasing their intellectual and physical well-being and improving the participant's quality of life. Examples of the activities include, but are not limited to, creative expression with emphasis on visual arts, physical activities, visiting museums, parties, life-skill training and social activities in the community, as well as special programs for senior adults.

Residential - Seagull provides residential services as a licensed ALF (Assisted Living Facility). Service includes medication management and oversight of health care to allow people with lifelong disabilities to live as independently as possible. In addition to room and board, these homes offer personal care and training that increases or maintains the level of independence of the residents and enhances their quality of life. Known as Seagull Place campus on Singer Island the group homes include family style living with 24-hour supervision, case coordination of health and wellness, activities, nutritious meals, and participation in social and community events. Transportation is provided to school, work, medical appointments or other day activities as well as evening and weekend activities.

Education - Seagull operates a charter school known as SAIL (Seagull Academy for Independent Living). SAIL is organized to educate children with learning challenges as well as an array of developmental disabilities. Students age 11 to 22 are offered innovative educational programs designed to help each student transition successfully to adult living through an academic and vocational curriculum, internships, community-based training, and extracurricular activities with an emphasis on arts and sports as well as a job placement and supported employment programs that are integral to the mission and outcomes. The graduation rate is 93% compared to the Palm Beach area rate of 77%. Over 50% of the students are employed by the time they finish school. Students also participated in a curriculum developed to expand teaching and internship opportunities to include greenhouse growing and technology. A community-based summer day camp enrichment program is offered for 7 weeks each summer under the auspices of the school. The student to staff ratio is 7 to 1.
