Vita Nova Independent Living Services (VNILS)Vita Nova is the lead provider in Palm Beach County for services related to educational tracking and achievement for older foster youth (ages 18-23), governed by Florida Statute. We helped and served 175 young adults over the past year with obtaining the life skills and education necessary to become self-sufficient, live independently and maintain employment. Life Coaches provide services for educational support, housing assistance, financial planning, life skills training, and career exploration. Life Coaches assist young adults with determining which independent living program is most suited for them as well as the various application processes.
Vita Nova VillageOver the past year, Vita Nova served 34 residents at our Vita Nova Village residential program. This program provides immediate housing, therapeutic, daily living skills and assistance with work/education so our residents can learn the skills to avoid homelessness after leaving the facility.At Vita Nova Village, 85% of our residents completed secondary educational goals and 70% moved on to post-secondary enrollment. 75% are gainfully employed and understand how to create and live on a budget. All residents have assistance with education, employment, healthcare and therapeutic goals.
The SpotThe Spot is a safe and inclusive drop-in center for youth ages 18-24 at risk of or experiencing homelessness. The Spot provides connections to youth who are unaware of where to go or not sure how to get started, while linking them to resources and programming aimed at eliminating or reducing the risk of homelessness.At the Spot, youth may undergo intake and assessment, have basic needs met, receive life skills training, employment readiness training, educational support, and therapy from a licensed clinician. Youth will also receive linkages to meet housing, health care, nutrition, and overall wellness needs. Within the past year, the Spot has served 250 youth.
