(JFS) IS A MULTI-SERVICE AGENCY WITH THE MISSION TO PROVIDE VITAL, HIGH-QUALITY AND INNOVATIVE SOCIAL SERVICES TO PEOPLE IN NEED . ANNUALLY, OUR SERVICES BENEFIT THE LIVES OF MORE THAN 10,000 PEOPLE IN CENTRAL FLORIDA REGARDLESS OF RACE, RELIGION, AGE, GENDER OR DISABILITY. SINCE 1978, WE HAVE REMAINED COMMITTED TO ENHANCING FAMILY LIFE AND MEETING THE HUMAN SERVICES NEEDS OF THE MOST VULNERABLE IN OUR COMMUNITY. THROUGH PROFESSIONAL GUIDANCE IN A CARING AND CONFIDENT ENVIRONMENT, JFS' ABILITY TO HELP THOSE IN NEED IS EXTENDED THROUGHOUT A FULL RANGE OF PROGRAMS AND SERVICES.

TO PROVIDE VITAL, HIGH QUALITY AND INNOVATIVE SOCIAL SERVICES TO THOSE IN NEED.

THE COUNSELING PROGRAM PROVIDES MENTAL HEALTH COUNSELING FOR ADULTS, CHILDREN, COUPLES AND FAMILIES. ALL OF JFS ORLANDO'S THERAPISTS HAVE MASTER'S DEGREES IN A MENTAL HEALTH FIELD AND ARE EITHER LICENSED OR WORKING TOWARD LICENSURE.JFS ORLANDO ACCEPTS MOST MAJOR INSURANCES (INCLUDING MEDICAID, MEDICARE AND COMMERCIAL INSURANCES) AND IS ONE OF THE FEW AGENCIES IN CENTRAL FLORIDA TO OFFER A SLIDING SCALE FEE FOR SERVICES.JFS PROVIDED MORE THAN 3,600 COUNSELING SESSIONS IN 2019.

THE PEARLMAN EMERGENCY FOOD PANTRY PROVIDES FOOD ASSISTANCE TO INDIVIDUALS AND FAMILIES WHO ARE FOOD INSECURE. IN 2019, JFS ORLANDO PROVIDED ENOUGH FOOD FOR CLOSE TO 90,000 MEALS--IMPACTING NEARLY 7,200 INDIVIDUALS--IN AN EFFORT TO ALLEVIATE HUNGER IN CENTRAL FLORIDA.

CHAPLAINCY IS A PASTORAL OUTREACH PROGRAM THAT PROVIDES SERVICES FOR UNAFFILIATED MEMBERS OF THE JEWISH COMMUNITY, INCLUDING HOME,HOSPICE, HOSPITAL AND END-OF-LIFE VISITS, AS WELL AS BURIAL AND MEMORIAL SERVICES.MORE THAN 800 CHAPLAINCY SERVICES WERE PROVIDED IN 2019, IMPACTING NEARLY 2,000 INDIVIDUALS.THE FAMILY STABILIZATION PROGRAM (FSP) PROVIDES AN ARRAY OF SERVICES TO HELP LOW-INCOME FAMILIES ACHIEVE LONG-TERM SELF-SUFFICIENCY, INCLUDING FINANCIAL EDUCATION, FINANCIAL COUNSELING, EMPLOYABILITY SKILLS TRAINING, FOOD ASSISTANCE, MENTAL HEALTH COUNSELING AND LEGAL GUIDANCE.FSP HELPED STABILIZE MORE THAN 130 FAMILIES IN 2019.RIDE (RELIABLE INDEPENDENT DRIVERS FOR THE ELDERLY) PROVIDES FREE, ROUND TRIP RIDES TO MEDICAL APPOINTMENTS AND OTHER LIFE-SUSTAINING SERVICES FOR LOW-INCOME SENIORS AND DISABLED ADULTS.JFS ORLANDO OFFERED MORE THAN 900 ROUNDTRIP RIDES IN 2019, ASSISTING 170 INDIVIDUALS.EMERGENCY SERVICES PROVIDES FINANCIAL ASSISTANCE FOR BASIC NEEDS (SUCH AS RENT, MORTGAGE OR UTILITIES)TO QUALIFIED INDIVIDUALS IN NEED.IN 2019, JFS ORLANDO PROVIDED MORE THAN $21,000 IN FINANCIAL ASSISTANCE FOR 25 AT-RISK HOUSEHOLDS.VOLUNTEER SERVICES PROVIDES VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITIES FOR INDIVIDUALS TO GIVE BACK TO THE COMMUNITY, INCLUDING DISTRIBUTING FOOD THROUGH THE PEARLMAN EMERGENCY FOOD PANTRY, ASSISTING WITH OFFICE WORK AND SERVING ON FUNDRAISING COMMITTEES OR THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS, FOR EXAMPLE.A TOTAL OF 126 VOLUNTEERS CONTRIBUTED MORE THAN 4,000 HOURS OF VOLUNTEER SERVICE TO JFS ORLANDO IN 2019.
