Organizations Filed Purposes: BALLET IDAHO'S MISSION IS TO PROMOTE CLASSICAL AND CONTEMPORARY BALLET BY ENCOURAGING ARTISTS TO GREATNESS AND INSPIRING THE PUBLIC TO VALUE THE PERFORMING ARTS. WE ENRICH OUR COMMUNITY THROUGH QUALITY PERFORMANCES, DISCIPLINED TRAINING, DANCE OUTREACH, AND EDUCATION. OUR VISION IS TO PROVIDE BEAUTIFUL, EXPRESSIVE BALLET THAT IS INSPIRATIONAL TO ALL COMMUNITIES IN IDAHO.

TO ENRICH LIVES THROUGH A DYNAMIC TRADITION OF CLASSIC BALLET.

IN A CHALLENGING SEASON CUT SHORT BY THE COVID-19 VIRUS, TWO PROFESSIONAL MAINSTAGE PERFORMANCES OF BALLET WERE PERFORMED IN BOISE, IDAHO INCLUDING A NEW PRODUCTION OF THE NUTCRACKER THAT INCLUDED VIBRANT NEW SETS AND COSTUMES, AND A FALL PROGRAM THAT INCLUDED FIVE SHORT WORKS BY FOUR INTERNATIONAL CHOREOGRAPHERS AND ONE LOCAL CHOREOGRAPHER. IN FEBRUARY, THE POPULAR NEW DANCE PROGRAM INCLUDED SIX SHORT WORKS BY TWO NATIONAL CHOREOGRAPHERS AND FOUR COMPANY DANCER AND ARTISTIC STAFF CHOREOGRAPHERS. THROUGH OUR OUTREACH PROGRAM, STUDENTS FROM AREA SCHOOLS AND OUTLYING RURAL SCHOOLS WERE BUSSED TO THE MAINSTAGE VENUE FOR AN ABBREVIATED PERFORMANCE OF THE NUTCRACKER. THE LIVE SPRING REPERTORY SHOW, LIGHT/DARK, AND LATE SPRING STORY BALLET BEAUTY AND THE BEAST WERE CANCELLED BECAUSE OF COVID-19. A DIGITAL VIEWING OF LIGHT/DARK WAS LATER SENT TO PATRONS. AS STEWARDS AND PROFESSIONAL ARTISTS IN THE ART FORM OF BALLET, OUR GOAL IS TO BRING THE COMMUNITY TOGETHER TO ENRICH LIVES AND INSTILL A LIFE-LONG APPRECIATION OF CLASSIC BALLET AND ALL OF THE ARTS AS RELATED IN WESTERN CULTURE.

OPERATION OF AN ACADEMY OF DANCE IN SUPPORT OF AND IN PARTNERSHIP WITH THE PROFESSIONAL BALLET COMPANY. STUDENTS RECEIVED DANCE INSTRUCTION IN CLASS AND AGES 5-20 HAVE THE OPPORTUNITY TO PARTICIPATE IN THE LIVE DANCE PERFORMANCES DESCRIBED IN LINE 4A AND 4C. IN MARCH 2020, THE ACADEMY CLOSED ITS' IN PERSON CLASSES DUE TO COVID-19. WITHIN TWO WEEKS, THE ACADEMY BEGAN PROVIDING VIRTUAL CLASSES AT MUCH REDUCED RATES. ALL ACADEMY PERFORMANCES AND RECITALS WERE CANCELLED. THE ACADEMY'S GOAL IS TO TRAIN ALL AGES IN THE PHYSICAL DISCIPLINE AND ARTISTIC MERITS OF CLASSICAL DANCING THROUGH MUSICALITY, PRECISION OF MOVEMENT AND MENTAL APTITUDE.

THE UTILIZATION OF ACADEMY STUDENTS AND TEACHING ARTISTS FOR EDUCATION OUTREACH IN SCHOOLS. THIS PROGRAM WAS HALTED IN MARCH 2020 DUE TO COVID-19, WHICH AFFECTED FIVE OF THE NINE SCHOOLS VISITED FOR THE YEAR. IN THE FALL AND WINTER SESSION, THE ACADEMY STUDENTS TOOK PERFORMANCES TO SCHOOLS IN THE BOISE, IDAHO AREA. OTHER SCHOOLS FROM THE GREATER TREASURE VALLEY CAME TO THE BALLET IDAHO ACADEMY TO SEE ACADEMY STUDENT PERFORMANCES. TEACHING ARTISTS VISITED NINE ELEMENTARY SCHOOLS WHICH INCLUDED TITLE I SCHOOLS, IN THE TREASURE VALLEY, INTRODUCING DANCE MOVEMENTS AND BALLET TECHNIQUE TO CHILDREN AS WELL AS DEMONSTRATING THE DANCE ARTS AS A LEARNING TOOL FOR TEACHERS, THROUGH OUR LEARNING THROUGH DANCE PROGRAM.
