Bogus Basin is a recreational area that operates to enrich the lives of Treasure Valley residents by providing year-round outdoor activities at rates that are affordable to a significant part of the community. Bogus Basin had 285,000 winter visits at an average admission cost per visit of only $36.38, a rate significantly lower than similar ski areas. Bogus Basin offers Nordic skiing, tubing, and snow shoeing during the winter and had over 355,000 total visits during the fiscal year. Bogus Basin continues to work on providing affordable summer recreation including youth summer camps, all-age mountain biking and hiking, star gazing, and nature experiences with forest service rangers as guides. All are offered at affordable rates. (Continued on Sch. O)Grants were provided to 30 schools in the area to encourage and enable student visits to Bogus Basin regardless of their ability to pay. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, Bogus Basin was forced to close winter operations a month early causing an estimated 25,000 visits missed.
