Organizations Filed Purposes:
To provide leadership in health policy and advocacy and to provide comprehensive member services that strengthen Idaho hospitals' viability and capacity to best serve their communities.

Our primary focus is state and federal government relations and advocacy efforts on behalf of our members. We work diligently with Idaho's Congressional Delegation, the American Hospital Association, the Idaho Legislature, and other health care associations to influence health care related issues on behalf of our membership.
A state cancer registry logged all incidents of cancer in Idaho for education, research, and public health concerns. A federal grant and a new federal contract improved the quality, timeliness & completeness of cancer data collection in Idaho with an increased emphasis on using data for research. Rural & critical access hospitals received data, education & technical assistance to improve service delivery. A state trauma registry logged and analyzed trauma cases and evaluated the health system's responses to such incidences. A state grant provided database planning, implementation and management of a time sensitive event registry in Idaho which now includes trauma, stroke and heart attack incidents. Idaho hospitals received education and technical assistance to improve quality of care.
IHA also provides members services such as consultation on matters such as physician relations and hospital law, group unemployment compensation program, quality and patient safety, workforce development, education programs, data collection and interpretation, and other member services.
