Promote peaceful co-existence through education among diverse cultural and religious groups in Israel and Palenstine.
Mar Elias Education: Pilgrims of Ibillin supports the K-12 Mar Elias Educational Institution and accompanying Learning Center. Children of all faiths from across Galilee are welcome to participate in this first-rate educational setting. Students are held to top academic standards and are taught principles of peace-building, interfaith cooperation, and community engagement. Pilgrims of Ibillin supports scholarships for students, campus improvement projects, building efforts, and enrichment opportunities.
Pilgrimage Trips: Our various Pilgrimage opportunities invite individuals and groups from the United States to experience the Holy Land in a new way. Meeting with individuals from a variety of faith backgrounds (Christian, Muslim, and Jewish) on both sides of the Green Line (in Israel and in Palestine), we learn together that the historical roots of each faith find deep meaning here, as do those who keep the dream of peace alive by working in education, community organizing, and other peace-building efforts. These trips include sites of great significance, and focus on getting to know the people and their stories.
Peace Partners: Peace Partners are organizations selected by the Pilgrims of Ibillin board who exhibit strong alignment with our core mission of building peace through education in Palestine and Israel. While the precise projects vary, we currently support organizations in the West Bank and Gaza through small grant funding on an annual basis. These organizations emphasize interfaith and cross-cultural educational and community-building opportunities.
