Organizations Filed Purposes: Ronald McDonald House Charities of Idaho supports families of ill or injured children by keeping them together in times of medical need. Families are the center of our purpose and we provide them with a safe and secure place for healing filled with hope and comfort as we invest and strengthen healthcare partnerships to meet families' growing and changing needs.

To provide temporary housing for families of seriously ill children while receiving treatment.

Ronald McDonald House Program: A 19-bedroom facility that provided a temporary home away from home for 689 families with hospitalized children in 2019. Families came from across Idaho, eastern Oregon and northern Nevada, Utah, Washington, California, Oklahoma, Arizona, Connecticut, Georgia, Indiana, Kentucky, Maryland, Montana, North Dakota, Ohio, Tennessee, Texas, Virginia and outside of the U.S. and were able to stay at the house during their child's medical treatment. The average length of stay was 11 days and over 76% of the families that used the house paid nothing out-of-pocket for their stay. A nominal $10 per day donation is requested, however, no one is turned away if they are unable to pay. The program was also able to assist 109 families of pediatric patients with food boxes to help reduce financial burdens. During 2019 the House unfortunately had to turn down 85 family requests for lodging; the current capital campaign to expand the House Program to 47 rooms to better serve families is underway with an estimated completion date of February 2020.

Family Room Program: On September 6, 2019 the Ronald McDonald Family Room began serving families at Eastern Idaho Regional Medical Center in Idaho Falls, Idaho. The Ronald McDonald Family Room provides a comfortable and supportive environment within the hospital where families can stay close to their child without having to spend all their time in a critical care environment. In 2019, there were 998 family visits to the Family Room where they could talk in private, do laundry, and even sleep comfortably overnight in a private bedroom so that parents can be better rested and able to participate in their child's care. The average length of stay was 4 days and 100% paid nothing out-of-pocket to stay. The Family Room will be fully supported by Ronald McDonald House Charities of Idaho staff and volunteers.

Hospitality Cart Program: In September 2017, a Hospitality Cart program was launched at two regional hospitals, Saint Alphonsus Pediatrics and St. Luke's Children's Hospital. RMHCI cut the ribbon on a 3rd hospitality cart in the Magic Valley in July of 2019. The carts are run by volunteers on Wednesday and Saturday. They are designed to serve families who wait for hours without leaving the hospital or their child's bedside. The carts bring parents a hot beverage and snack while keeping the little ones entertained with books, toys, and fun activities.
