The American College of Veterinary Ophthalmologists Inc.advances the quality of veterinary medicine through certification of veterinarians who demonstrate excellence as specialists in veterinary ophthalmology.
Hosted annual conference which provides networking and education opportunities for attendees.
For the past ten years,the ACVO with the help of its sponsors, has hosted theACVO/Stokes National Service Dog Eye Exam Event. This event involves approximatelyOver 300 of our Veterinary Ophthalmologist Diplomates in the US, Canada and Puerto Rico who provide free screening eye exams to qualified Service Animals. Participation of our Members is completely voluntary and they do not receive compensation for their time or expenses. IIn ten years our ophthalmologists have donated over 60,000 exams! We estimate that services worth over $2,500,000 have been donated to the Service Animal Communityas part of this event over the last ten years.
