In 2019, GBM was involved in 21 ministry events in four countries. Some of these werelarge events with multiple times of teaching and ministry over days and weeks. The ministry eventsincluded church services, seminars, Bible schools, intern programs, and other ministryproceedings. The international ministry included mission trips to Israel, Pakistan, and three to Kenya. These mission trips normally involved multiple people going with GBM.The first international ministry trip of 2019 was to Israel in February. This was the fifthtime that I led a team to Israel. There were sixteen on the mission trip. We focused on seeing theHoly sites, ministering in various places, and times of intercessory prayer. The three trips to Kenya were in April / May, August, and December. I went to Nairobi,Kenya, to work with Kenya College of Ministry (Kcom). GBM has partnered with Capital Churchof Meridian, Idaho, to help start and teach at Kcom. Sometimes I go alone on these teaching trips. At other times, other Christian leaders go with me to help teach the students. The school hasapproximately 80 students in the three-year diploma course while others are working on a thesisfor a degree. Most of the students are lead pastors. The courses that they take emphasize boththeology and practical ministry. The school also includes pastors from the country of Tanzania. We have had seven graduations to this point with about 100 graduates. The trips to Kenya ofteninclude ministry in various churches.Ministry to Pakistan occurred in October. There were four of us that went on this mission. The two partners of GBM in Pakistan are Pastor Rizwan Fazal and Pastor Asher Aziz who bothreside in Lahore. They are both lead pastors and carry on their own ministry activities as well aspartner with GBM for its activities. With these partners, GBM has carried out many ministryexploits, and we have been doing so since 2009.In February of 2019, GBM USA sent money to GBM PAK (Pakistan) in order to purchasean acre of land in Kasur, Punjab. Our vision and hope have been to build a school building on thisacre of land that will provide for the educational needs of primary students who are currently taughtby our teachers at brickyards where the students (children) both live and work as slaves. The newschool building will also provide a secondary education for those students who finish the primarygrades. The October ministry trip included many ministry activities, including open air preachingevents, church meetings, a ten-year celebration of and diploma service, as well as visiting andministry in our primary GBM Hope schools for slave children.By the end of 2019, GBM had twenty-three (23) schools in Pakistan. Six (6) of these aretrade schools for women and sixteen (17) are schools for children who are slaves in brick yards. All of these schools are in the Punjab region. The schools for women each have a teacher and about12 students. The students are taught to become seamstresses and beauticians so that they can getjobs. These are Christian schools, but we allow women who are not Christians to also come. SomeMuslim women attend these schools. Around 300 women graduate from our trade schools since2009.The GBM Hope Schools for slave children each have a teacher with approximately 45students. The students receive uniforms, desks, curriculum, and are taught Urdu, English, mathematics, science, and Bible. The United Nations refers to these children as slaves. Thegovernment of Pakistan does not include them in their school systems, and we have been told thateducation is the only possible way that these slaves will gain lasting freedom from the indentured,downward-spiraling-bondage system of the brick yard factories. We now have three churches in the Punjab that were started by GBM. These are calledLight City churches. The newest church, started within the last couple of years, is actually in abrick yard where the slaves live and work. It has about 50 members. The other two churches, located near brickyards and started earlier, each have about 200 people in attendance. At the open-air meetings in Pakistan in October, roughly 1700 1800 people madedecisions to live for Christ. Since 2009, there have been about 16,000 of these decisions in GBMhostedPakistan meetings.Other than the major ministry events of GBM in 2019, there were times of counseling, meetings, etc. Two GBM News Reports were created and dispersed to those interested in GBM.We also created a booklet which is a promotional of the need to build a school in Pakistan. Apromotional video was created about the work in Pakistan that is now available on You Tube andthe new GBM website being created. My book entitled Pathways, which is used for discipleshippurposes, was translated into both Swahili (Kenya) and Urdu (Pakistan) for future publication andavailability.
