Organizations Filed Purposes:
To provide support to the homeless population in the Magic Valley. Valley House is the only homeless shelter of its kind in our 8 County South Central Idaho region. Without our services, those who have found themselves homeless and without resources would have no place to turn. Valley House clients benefit by having a drug-free, safe, clean, orderly environment to care for their children and to have the time allowed to get themselves into better employment and affordable housing. Valley House not only offers shelter but many different life-changing classes.
The organization, Valley Housing Coalition, Inc. AKA Valley House, operates a shelter for homeless families and individuals. The shelter is unique because volunteers and a paid director mentor and advise homeless persons by offering them "a hand up instead of a hand-out." Valley House helps find work and services in the community for people who, because of circumstances, are without a job and without a place to live. While staying at Valley House these individuals have a chance to hone their job and parenting skills. Also, after they find a job, they save up a deposit in order to be able to move into their own home or apartment. Valley House does not receive federal or state aid. All revenues are from community churches, individuals and businesses.
Provided shelter for single men and women, married couples, and families in need.
