RIMTA COORDINATES AND PARTNERS WITH AREA TRAINERS TO OFFER PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT AND CERTIFICATION TRAINING ON TOPICS SUCH AS ENVIRONMENTAL REGULATIONS, OSHA, HUMAN RESOURCES, AND INDUSTRY ROUNDTABLE DISCUSSIONS. THE MARINE TRADES & COMPOSITES PRE-APPRENTICESHIP TRAINING PROGRAM IS GEARED TO INDIVIDUALS LOOKING TO GAIN SKILLS NEEDED FOR ENTRY-LEVEL POSITIONS IN THE MARINE AND COMPOSITES INDUSTRIES AND IS COORDINATED BY RIMTA ALONG WITH AREA EMPLOYERS AND EDUCATIONAL PROVIDERS. IN ADDITION, RIMTA ALSO OFFERS SUMMER BOAT BUILDING PROGRAMS TO PROVIDE WORK EXPERIENCES TO YOUTH AGES 14-16.
MEMBERSHIP DUES, SHRINK WRAP PROGRAM & OTHER INCOME - RIMTA'S MEMBERS ARE INVOLVED IN A WIDE RANGE OF MARINE-TRADES ACTIVITY, THE MEMBERSHIP BASE OF SOME 265 COMPANIES INCLUDES BOAT BUILDERS, MANUFACTURERS, MARINAS, BOATYARDS, SERVICE PROVIDERS, RETAIL AND WHOLESALE OUTFITS, EDUCATIONAL INSTITUTIONS AND OTHER ORGANIZATIONS. FOUNDED IN 1964, RIMTA TODAY IS ENGAGED IN A DIVERSE SET OF ACTIVITIES ON BEHALF OF ITS MEMBERS. THE ORGANIZATION'S BOARD OF DIRECTORS REPRESENTS ALL FACETS OF THE INDUSTRY AND CHAIR COMMITTEES ON BOAT SHOWS, BOATING SAFETY, DEALERS, EDUCATION & TRAINING, FERRIES & CHARTERS, FISHERIES, LEGISLATIVE, MANUFACTURING, MARINAS, MEMBERHSIP AND YACHT CLUBS.
