RIDMAT/MRC FIELD HOSPITAL, NALOXONE AND OVERDOSE PREVENTION EDUCATION PROGRAM, OSTB-RI CONTRACTS - THE RHODE ISLAND DISASTER MEDICAL ASSISTANCE TEAM (RIDMAT) IS ACTIVE IN PREPARING FOR AND RESPONDING TO THE PUBLIC HEALTH AND EMERGENCY RESPONSE NEEDS OF RHODE ISLAND AND ITS COMMUNITIES. RIDMAT HOLDS CONTRACTS WITH THE RI DEPARTMENT OF HEALTH AND RI EMERGENCY MANAGEMENT AGENCY TO MAINTAIN A CACHE OF FIELD HOSPITAL EQUIPMENT THAT CAN QUICKLY BE DEPLOYED IN THE INSTANCE OF A STATE DISASTER OR PUBLIC HEALTH EMERGENCY. RIDMAT ALSO RECRUITS AND TRAINS MEDICAL AND COMMUNITY VOLUNTEERS TO PREPARE FOR AND RESPOND TO PUBLIC HEALTH ISSUES AND DISASTERS BY PROVIDING MEANINGFUL TRAINING OPPORTUNITIES AND ORIENTATIONS TO REGISTERED VOLUNTEERS. ADDITIONALLY, RIDMAT WORKS WITH STATE PARTNERS TO PROVIDE ORGANIZATIONAL AND COMMUNITY-BASED TRAINING OPPORTUNITIES TO ENHANCE BYSTANDER CAPACITY TO RESPOND, SPECIFICALLY, TO OPIOID OVERDOSE THROUGH THE NALOXONE AND OVERDOSE PREVENTION EDUCATION PROGRAM AND BLEEDING EMERGENCIES THROUGH OPERATION STOP THE BLEED.

RI RESPONDS PROGRAM CONTRACT - RIDMAT MANAGES THE STATE OF RHODE ISLAND'S EMERGENCY SYSTEM FOR THE ADVANCE REGISTRATION OF VOLUNTEER HEALTH PROFESSIONALS (ESAR-VHP), RI RESPONDS, CONTACT AND CREDENTIAL ITS VOLUNTEERS THE ONLINE DATA-BASE IS USED IN THE MOBILIZATION OF MEDICAL HEALTH AND COMMUNITY VOLUNTEERS IN THE INSTANCE OF A PUBLIC HEALTH OR EMERGENCY. THE STANDARDS FOR THE SYSTEM AND ITS APPLICATIONS ARE DICTATED BY THE DEPARTMENT OF HEALTH AND HUMAN SERVICES ESAR-VHP GUIDELINES.

FIELD HOSPITAL SERVICES - RIDMAT PROVIDES TRAINING TO ITS MEMBERS IN THE FORM OF FIELD HOSPITAL EVENTS. THE GOAL OF THESE EVENTS IS AIMED AT TRAINING MEDICAL HEALTH PROFESSIONAL VOLUNTEERS TO PREPARE FOR AND RESPOND TO PUBLIC HEALTH AND EMERGENCY RESPONSE DISASTERS BY PROVIDINGHOSPITAL-LEVEL CARE TO PARTICIPANTS AND SPECTATORS RIDMAT/MRC'S PARTICIPATION AT THESE EVENTS ALLEVIATES SURGE ON LOCAL EMS SERVICES AND AREA HOSPITALS AND ADDITIONALLY FAMILIARIZES THE VOLUNTEER WITH THE PROCESSES AND EQUIPMENT THAT ARE USED IN THE INSTANCE OF A PUBLIC HEALTH EMERGENCY OR DISASTER EVENT.
