THE WOLF SCHOOL INSPIRES COMPLEX LEARNERS TO DISCOVER CONFIDENCE, COMPASSION AND A LOVE OF LEARNING TO REACH THEIR TRUE POTENTIAL.

THE SCHOOL'S TEAM OF TEACHERS, TEACHING ASSISTANTS, OCCUPATIONAL THERAPISTS AND SPEECH LANGUAGE PATHOLOGISTS WORK WITH EACH STUDENT TO DEVELOP INDIVIDUALIZED STRATEGIES ACCORDING TO HIS OR HER NEEDS. THE CURRICULUM ENCOMPASSES A RIGOROUS BLEND OF ACADEMIC SUBJECTS AND INTENSIVE THERAPEUTIC SUPPORT. THE TEACHER TO STUDENT RATIO IS NO MORE THAN 1:4 WHICH ALLOWS FOR SMALL INSTRUCTIONAL GROUPS. THE TEACHING MODEL ADDRESSES THREE MAJOR LEARNING CHALLENGES: LANGUAGE PROCESSING AND PRODUCTION, SENSORY REGULATION AND SOCIALLY EFFECTIVE COMMUNICATION.
AFTER-SCHOOL PROGRAMS - THE WOLF SCHOOL OFFERED A VARIETY OF AFTER-SCHOOL PROGRAMS THAT MET ONCE PER WEEK FOR A CERTAIN NUMBER OF WEEKS THROUGHOUT THE YEAR. PROGRAMS INCLUDED HOMEWORK CLUB, SPORTS INTRAMURALS, COOKING, KARATE, A THEATER PROGRAM, AND AN ART PROGRAM.
SUMMER PROGRAM - THE WOLF SCHOOL OFFERED A FIVE WEEK, FOUR DAY A WEEK FULL DAY SUMMER PROGRAM CALLED CAMP CONFIDENCE. SPECIAL EDUCATION TEACHERS, OCCUPATIONAL THERAPISTS, SPEECH PATHOLOGISTS AND TEACHER ASSISTANTS INCORPORATED ACADEMIC GOALS IN READING, MATH AND WRITING THROUGHOUT EACH MORNING. IN THE AFTERNOON, STUDENTS PARTICIPATED IN VARIOUS ENRICHMENT ACTIVITIES SUCH AS MESSY SCIENCE, OUTDOOR EDUCATION, SAILING, IMPROV THEATRE AND TEAM BUILDING ACTIVITIES TO PROVIDE SOCIAL OPPORTUNITIES AND APPLICATION OF SKILLS ACROSS SETTINGS EMBEDDED IN DIFFERENT CONTENT AREAS.
