National Academy of Advanced Teacher Education (NAATE):The NAATE program for Teacher Leaders is delivered in a two summer sequence. It includes 250+ hours of advanced learning tailored to the needs of high performing educators in K-12 public education and includes the domains of teaching and learning as well as supporting and leading peers. In the NAATE program participants spend a majority of time learning through the case study method, a rigorous pedagogical approach that is rarely used in the classroom teaching profession until now. NAATE helps educators understand what makes them effective, what they can do to be more effective, and how they might think about implementing the material learned at NAATE in the K-12 school environment. Fifty four teachers were served in Pittsburgh at Chatham University in the summer 2019 program. NAATE began conversion of its entire program and curriculum to a Field Modules format in 2019. NAATE began piloting its Field Modules in fall 2019, as well. Forty five educators piloted three Modules and six Field Module sessions in programs conducted in the second half of 2019.
