Organizations Filed Purposes: THE CENTER FOR DYNAMIC LEARNING PROMOTES INQUIRY BASED LEARNING THROUGH HANDS-ON, STUDENT CENTERED, INTERDISCIPLINARY STEAMM CURRICULUM. BY TARGETING THE ENTIRETY OF THE STEAMM ACRONYM, SCIENCE, TECHNOLOGY, ENGINEERING, ARTS, MATH, AND MANUFACTURING, CDL PLACES ITSELF AT THE FOREFRONT OF THE EVER EVOLVING DESCRIPTION OF A SUCCESSFUL 21ST CENTURY ADULT - MAKING SURE TO IMPART ESSENTIAL SOCIAL COMPETENCIES AS WELL AS COLLEGE AND CAREER READY CONTENT KNOWLEDGE. CDL IS NOT A ONE TIME LEARNING EXPERIENCE. ALL PROGRAMMING IS INQUIRY BASED AND CHALLENGES YOUTH TO FOLLOW THEIR OWN INQUIRIES TO RELEVANT LEARNING EXPERIENCES.

THE CENTER FOR DYNAMIC LEARNING INSPIRES YOUTH TO CULTIVATE CAREER READINESS AND WORKFORCE SKILLS THROUGH SCIENCE, ART AND THEATRE PROGRAMS.

DURING THE 2019 FISCAL YEAR, THE CENTER FOR DYNAMIC LEARNING'S ("CDL") THEATRE PROGRAMS PRODUCED OVER 18 YOUTH-LED, INCLUSIVE PRODUCTIONS WITH ELEMENTARY SCHOOL YOUTH FROM RHODE ISLAND AND MASSACHUSETTS. PARTICIPATING SCHOOLS INCLUDE LONSDALE ELEMENTARY, SAYLESVILLE ELEMENTARY, NORTHERN ELEMENTARY, CENTRAL ELEMENTARY, HENRY BARNARD, ST. PIOUS, INTERNATIONAL CHARTER SCHOOL, HOPE ACADEMY AND MEETING STREET SCHOOL. APPROXIMATELY 200 YOUTH PARTICIPATED WITH THE AVERAGE AUDIENCE SIZES OF 125-150 ATTENDEES PER PERFORMANCE.CDL AND ASA MESSER ELEMENTARY SCHOOL FORMED A PARTNERSHIP FOR THE 2018-2019 ACADEMIC YEAR TO BEGIN DELIVERING THE CEE (CREATE, EXPLORE, ENRICH) AFTER SCHOOL PROGRAM. CDL IS THE ANCHOR TO THIS AFTERSCHOOL PROGRAM PROVIDING STEAMM (SCIENCE, TECHNOLOGY, ENGINEERING, ARTS, MATH AND MANUFACTURING) PROGRAMS. CDL ENTERED INTO ITS 2ND YEAR OF CEE (CREATE, EXPLORE, ENRICH) PROGRAMMING IN THE FALL OF 2019. THE GOAL OF THE PROGRAM IS TO SUPPORT BETWEEN 125-150 YOUTH DAILY, SERVE AS AN INTERVENTION STRATEGY TO PREVENT ABSENTEEISM, PROVIDE REGULAR HOMEWORK AND TUTORING SUPPORTS, AS WELL AS A DIVERSE POOL OF ENRICHMENT PROGRAMS AND TRANSPORTATION. WE SUCCESSFULLY REACHED OUR GOAL OF DAILY SERVICE FLOATING BETWEEN 135-140. PROGRAM EVALUATION DEMONSTRATED A MODEST IMPROVEMENT IN READING, MATH, SOCIAL EMOTIONAL WELLNESS, AND EFFICACY. THE CDL CAREER AND TECHNICAL EDUCATION (CTE) PROGRAM SERVED 40 HIGH SCHOOL YOUTH DURING THE SCHOOL YEAR AWARDING UP TO 6 COLLEGE CREDITS FROM ROGER WILLIAMS UNIVERSITY FOR YOUTH WHO DEMONSTRATED PROFICIENCY IN ENGINEERING, TECHNOLOGY AND DESIGN. DURING THE SUMMER MONTHS OF 2019 CDL EMPLOYED 60 YOUTH TO SERVE AS TEEN APPRENTICES IN OUR SOUTH SIDE RENOVATION PROJECT WHERE REPAIR SERVICES WERE PROVIDED FOR LOW TO MODERATE INCOME FAMILIES, THE ELDERLY AND DISABLED VETERANS WHO HAD LITTLE TO NO SUPPORT SERVICES. A TOTAL OF 12 FAMILY HOMES WERE SERVICED AND PROJECTS INCLUDED BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO, REPLACING ROTTED AND BROKEN STAIRS, REBUILDING AND MENDING FENCES, YARD DEBRIS REMOVAL, REPAIRING OUTDOOR PLAY YARDS, BUILDING SHEDS AND COMPOSTING UNITS. ALL 60 PARTICIPATING STUDENTS RECEIVED 3 COLLEGE CREDITS, OSHA 10, CPR/AED/FIRST AID, FINANCIAL LITERACY AND LEADERSHIP DEVELOPMENT CERTIFICATES.
