To offer high quality medical care and preventative health services to individuals who do not have health insurance or cannot afford to have those services.
Clinic Experanzas (CEHC) purpose is to provide healthcare services to residents of Rhode Island who do not have health insurance coverage. CEHC accomplishes this purpose through various subprograms offered by the clinic. These subprograms include: (1) Bridging the Gap (BTG) - offering continuity of care, quarterly goal-setting appointments, and healthy lifestyle interventions for uninsured participants who have chronic health problems. Positive outcomes for the first 549 participants from the initial 18-month period were published in the RI Journal of Medicine in November 2018. At the beginning of Year 3 (March 2019), more than 1,500 patients are currently enrolled in BTG; (2) CHEER Clinic - CHEER Clinic is a nurse-run emergency room (ER).
