Organizations Filed Purposes: OUR MISSION IS TO THRILL AND MOVE OUR AUDIENCES, DANCERS, CHOREOGRAPHERS, SUPPORTERS AND STAFF WITH ART AND DISCIPLINE. OUR VISION IS TO CONTINUOUSLY INCREASE IN PASSION AND ARTISTIC EXCELLENCE AND STRENGTH, ACHEIVING NATIONAL AND INTERNATIONAL RECOGNITION AS A CREATIVE FORCE IN DANCE.

DURING THE 2018-2019 SEASON, FESTIVAL BALLET PROVIDENCE PRODUCED EIGHT PROGRAMS, "ROBIN HOOD," "UP CLOSE ON HOPE PROGRAM 1," "THE NUTCRACKER," "MIRRORS," "THE THREE LITTLE PIGS," "UP CLOSE ON HOPE PROGRAM 2, AND "SWAN LAKE." THERE WERE SIX WORLD PREMIERES AND NINE COMPANY PREMIERES INCLUDING TONY AWARD WINNER CHRISTOPHER WHEELDON'S "THE AMERICAN AND GEORGE BALANCHINE'S ICONIC "SERENADE." THE COMPANY COMPRISED OF 29 FULL-TIME DANCERS, APPRENTICES, AND TRAINEES, THAT PERFORMED IN THREE VENUES: PROVIDENCE PERFORMING ARTS CENTER, THE VETS, AND THE BLACK BOX THEATRE HOUSED WITHIN ITS HOPE STREET LOCATION. AUDIENCE ENGAGEMENT AND INVOLVEMENT EFFORTS INCLUDED OPEN REHEARSALS, POST-PERFORMANCE Q&A SESSIONS, VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITIES BACKSTAGE, IN ADDITION TO PUBLIC APPEARANCES AT LOCAL COMMUNITY EVENTS AND PERFORMANCES.

DURING THE 2018-2019 FISCAL YEAR, THE FESTIVAL BALLET PROVIDENCE SCHOOL AND RELATED EDUCATION INITIATIVES PROVIDED PROFESSIONAL AND FOCUSED DANCE EDUCATION FOR APPROXIMATELY 300 STUDENTS IN CLASSES HELD REGULARLY AT ITS HOPE STREET LOCATION. SESSIONS INCLUDED 2018-2019 ACADEMIC YEAR, OPEN SUMMER CAMPS AND CLASSES, AND A NEW 5-WEEK SUMMER DANCE INTENSIVE PROGRAM. RECURRING OBSERVATION WEEKS AND PARENT CONFERENCES, AND YEAR-END EVALUATIONS ALLOWED FACULTY AND PARENTS TO MONITOR STUDENT DEVELOPMENT AND TECHNICAL PROGRESS. STUDENTS PERFORMED IN THEIR ANNUAL RECITAL, CULMINATION 2019, AT RHODE ISLAND COLLEGE. THE SUMMER DANCE INTENSIVE PROGRAM PERFORMED TWO FREE OUTDOOR PERFORMANCES IN COLLABORATION WITH WATERFIRE THAT INCLUDED A NEW BALLET TO CELEBRATE THE 50TH ANNIVERSARY OF THE APOLLO 11 MOON LANDING, AND AN EXCERPT FROM STRAVINSKY'S "FIREBIRD." BOTH PERFORMANCES WERE ATTENDED BY MORE THAN 10,000 AUDIENCE MEMBERS.
