HANNAH'S ROCK IS MANAGED BY AN INDEPENDENT ORGANIZATION. PRI MANAGES THE GOVERNOR HENRY LIPPITT HOUSE AS A MUSEUM; THE JEREMIAH DEXTER HOUSE AS ITS ADMINISTRATIVE OFFICE, AND THE PHILIP WALKER HOUSE AS A STUDY HOUSE WITH A RESIDENTIAL CARETAKER. PRI HELPS OTHER NON PROFIT ORGANIZATIONS TAKE CARE OF HISTORIC PROPERTIES, SUCH AS THE STEPHEN HOPKINS HOUSE, BY SHARING PRI'S PROPERTY MANAGEMENT EXPERTISE.
ADVOCACY: PRI IS THE STATEWIDE ADVOCATE FOR HISTORIC PLACES. PRI SUPPORTS LOCAL AND STATE INIATIVIES TO BRING MORE RESOURCES TO PRESERVE HISTORIC PLACES, INCLUDING ADVOCATING FOR STATE HISTORIC TAX CREDITS AND PRESERVATION GRANTS. PRI SPEAKS UP WHEN HISTORIC PLACES ARE THREATENED IN RHODE ISLAND, ASSISTING LOCAL PRESERVATIONISTS TO PROTECT THE PLACES THAT MATTER IN THEIR COMMUNITIES. PRI RAISES AWARENESS ABOUT PRESERVATION ISSUES THROUGH ITS MONTHLY EMAIL NEWS AND ADVOCACY ALERTS. PRI CELEBRATES PRESERVATION ACCOMPLISHMENTS ACROSS RHODE ISLAND THROUGH ANNUAL PRESENTATION OF RHODY AWARDS.
PROTECTION: PRI DIRECTLY PROTECTS HISTORIC PLACES THROUGH ITS REVOLVING FUND AND EASEMENT PROGRAMS. PRI MANAGES HISTORIC CURATORSHIPS WHERE REHABILITATION OF OLD BUILDINGS IS ACCOMPLISHED THROUGH SWEAT EQUITY. PRI'S EASEMENT PROGRAM HAS A FOCUS ON HISTORIC BUILDINGS ADJACENT TO OPEN SPACE TO PROTECT THE UNIQUE CHARACTER OF COMMUNITIES IN RHODE ISLAND.
