Mothers' Milk Bank collects, screens, and dispenses donated surplus milk from healthy, lactating mothers. In 2019, Mothers' Milk Bank Dispensed 740,514 ounces to over 646 outpatient recipients and 153 hospitals who provide banked milk for their patients. Bank donor milk is available for babies whose own mothers are unable to supply their needs, and others who have special health requirements for human milk.
Best Start Program- Providing evidence based resources and education, our aim is to ensure that every newborn in Colorado has a safe place to sleep, can reap the benefits of human milk (breast milk) as their first food, and will thrive by building a strong, healthy brain. In 2019, more than 5,719 new and expecting families participated in the Best Start program.
The Patient and Family Assistance Fund provides patients and families with direct assistance to meet their fundamental needs. The program seeks to ensure the health and safety of pediatric patients in the Rocky Mountain region and to minimize outside stressors during a child's health emergency. RMCHF helped 1,826 families with direct assistance and more than 5,632 pediatric patients through the Patient and Family Assistance Program.
