Organizations Filed Purposes:
Inspire, recruit and resource churches and families to serve the children in foster care.
Inspired and recruited parents through Colorado churches to serve children in Colorado's child welfare system through our 35 faith-based seminars held this past year across the state with 132 individuals attending the state-approved training required to become foster and adoptive parents. An additional 546 participants were trained as support team members for fostering families. Project 1.27 then helped participants select appropriate agencies and provided ongoing support throughout the foster and adoption process. Project 1.27 parents served 170 children in foster care, including 17 finalized adoptions during this fiscal year. A new program, Care Portal, was launched March 2020 and served 92 children through direct resources. The 1.27 National Network, led by Project 1.27, supported 12 similar organizations across the U.S. and together we served 3,500 children through foster families, adoptive families, mentoring, support services and direct resources.
