To enrich and inspire a broad community through music.
The Boulder Chorale brings together over 200 singers from age 5 to 95 to learn and perform music from diverse cultures, including the classical western music repertoire. Our 2019-20 season began with a successful workshop concert performed by our children's choirs, followed by our nearly sold-out Rhythm Planet concert celebrating music from Brazil, India, Haiti, and the Native American culture. Our Holiday Concert brought together all 200+ singers performing festive songs from many traditions, with a special focus on the shared musical traditions that come together in American folk and bluegrass music. Our Chamber Chorale performed Cherubini's challenging Requiem with the Boulder Chamber Orchestra in February, while our Concert Chorale prepared for its A World in Harmony concert in March. The Children's Chorale was preparing to perform for an "Indigenous Languages Symposium" put on by the University of Colorado Department of Romance Languages, and its own All That Jazz concert in April. Sadly, all of these spring concerts and activities were cancelled due to state and county Coronavirus restrictions. All choirs have now transitioned to online classes, learning programs, and virtual performances in what has become an exciting 2020-21 season. The Chorale provides scholarships to singers of all ages and distributes free tickets to ensure that financial need doesn't prevent qualified singers and audience members from sharing in the joy of our music.
