The General Society of Mayflower Descendants tells the story of the journey of the Pilgrims aboard the Mayflower in 1620 by providing education and understanding of why the Pilgrims were important, how they shaped America and what their 1620 voyage means today.
To provide education and understanding of Pilgrim History
Mayflower Society House-preserve, protect and interpret this 18th century Georgian mansion and surrounding gardens which contains a sizeable collection of decorative arts, antiques and artifacts of historic significance relating to the Pilgrims and their descendants. This property is open to the public.
Genealogical research and publications-publish research of professional genealogists and historians in authoritative biographical, genealogical and historical publications, each of which contains previously unknown details of the lives of Pilgrim descendants. We sell the resulting books and other related merchandise to our members and to the general public.
Genealogy validation- we collect and house research materials relating to Pilgrim history, culture and the genealogy of our members and maintain an on-site library which is open to researchers, genealogists and historians.
