WE DEVELOPED OUR METHODS MANUAL DURING OUR FISCAL YEAR JUNE 1, 2018 TO MAY 31, 2019 WE CONTINUED TO RESEARCH, ORGANIZE, AND WRITE OUR 12 CHAPTER, 175 PAGE LIFE SKILLS TEACHING AND COACHING METHODS MANUAL. TO ACCOMPLISH THIS, WE WORKED AS A TEAM WITH AN EXPERIENCED PROFESSIONAL WRITER IN CALIFORNIA, AN ACCOMPLISHED RESEARCHER AND EVALUATOR IN WASHINGTON, D.C., MYSELF, AND ADMINISTRATIVE SUPPORT FROM A LOCAL TRANSCRIBER AND AN EDITOR. WE EXPANDED OUR SHAREPOINT CLOUD DATABASE AND DEEPENED OUR OPERATIONAL SUPPORT SYSTEM THROUGHOUT THIS FISCAL YEAR, WE UP-DATED AND EXPANDED OUR PROCEDURAL MANUALS WHICH GOVERN THE TECHNOLOGY, LEGAL, AND ADMINISTRATIVE ASPECTS OF OUR WORK AND THE CARE OF OUR PHYSICAL OFFICES. WE HAVE EXPANDED OUR ONLINE PLATFORM, SHARE POINT, TO HOUSE OUR INTERNAL COMMUNICATIONS, THE ON-GOING DRAFTS OF OUR METHODS MANUAL AND THE CURRICULUM FOR OUR LIFE SKILLS EDUCATIONAL PROGRAMS, AND OUR KNOWLEDGE AND INFORMATION MANAGEMENT SYSTEMS INCLUDING OUR 900 VOLUME LIBRARY AS WELL AS OUR ON-LINE RESEARCH ON U.S. COLLEGE STUDENTS, FACULTY, AND ADMINISTRATORS. WE HAVE ENLARGED OUR STAFF AND INDEPENDENT CONTRACTORS WE HAVE HIRED AND TRAINED EIGHT NEW EMPLOYEES: SEVERAL ADMINISTRATIVE ASSISTANTS, AN ASSISTANT DIRECTOR OF OPERATIONS, AND THE DEVELOPER OF OUR OUTREACH AND DEVELOPMENT PROGRAMS. THIS GROWTH IN OUR STAFF HAS SUBSTANTIALLY IMPROVED THE SCOPE AND QUALITY OF OUR WORK. WE HAVE GREATLY IMPROVED OUR OUTREACH AND DEVELOPMENT DEPARTMENTS WE HAVE HIRED A NEW DEVELOPER OF OUTREACH AND FUNDRAISING, BEGUN THE RESHAPING OF OUR WEBSITE, AND ATTENDED THE NATIONAL CONFERENCES OF THE AMERICAN MARKETING ASSOCIATION AND THE ASSOCIATION OF PROFESSIONAL FUNDRAISERS TO LOCATE AND GAIN THE GUIDANCE OF EXPERIENCED MARKETERS AND FUNDRAISERS. WE HAVE FURTHER EXPANDED OUR OUTREACH BY ATTENDING THE NATIONAL AMERICAN PSYCHOLOGICAL ASSOCIATION'S CONFERENCE TO LOCATE AND MEET EXPERIENCED PSYCHOLOGISTS WHO WILL IMPROVE OUR PROGRAMS AND ATTENDING THE COLORADO NON-PROFIT ASSOCIATION'S CONFERENCE TO OPEN UP COLORADO-BASED CONNECTIONS. WE HAVE INCREASED AND IMPROVED OUR PROGRAM CURRICULUM WE HAVE CONTINUED TO ADD TO OUR PROGRAM CURRICULUMS BY TRACKING, RESEARCHING, AND ADDING TO EACH AREA OF OUR CORE CURRICULUM. WE HAVE INTEGRATED MORE UP-TO-DATE, ON-TARGET CONTENT FROM NATIONAL PROFESSIONAL PRESENTATIONS AND WIDELY ACCLAIMED WRITTEN MATERIAL. ONE OF THE PRESENTATIONS WE ATTENDED THIS YEAR, "OUT OF CONTROL TEAMS", DESCRIBES THE DIFFICULTIES TEENS CONFRONT IN THE MIDST OF THE I PHONE, INTERNET, INSTAGRAM, TICK TOCK, AND TEXT-LADEN CULTURE IN WHICH THEY LIVE ON AVERAGE FOR 5 OR 6 HOURS EVERY DAY. (JEAN TWENGE: IGEN: WHY TODAY'S SUPER CONNECTED KIDS ARE GROWING UP LESS REBELLIOUS, MORE TOLERANT, LESS HAPPY - AND COMPLETELY UNPREPARED FOR ADULTHOOD) WE HAVE ALSO TRACKED AND INTEGRATED THE PRECEPTS OF POSITIVE PSYCHOLOGY, MOTIVATIONAL INTERVIEWING, DRAMA THERAPY, NON-VIOLENT COMMUNICATION, VIRGINIA SATIR'S SYSTEMS THERAPY IN OUR METHODS MANUAL AND LIFE SKILLS EDUCATIONAL CURRICULUM. IN THESE WAYS DURING THIS FISCAL YEAR, WE HAVE STRENGTHENED, EXPANDED AND ENRICHED OUR LIFE SKILLS EDUCATIONAL PROGRAMS AND OUR NON-PROFIT, THE LEARNING FOR LIVING INSTITUTE.
