November 2019 Program in Amsterdam entitled Managing Adults with PKU Exploring Solutions to the Puzzle. Speakers included expert metabolic clinicians and researchers from South America and the U.S. The program offered the opportunity to network and share ideas about managing adults with PKU. Participants learned to identify the adult burden of disease identify neuropsychiatric symptoms due to high phenylalanine explore solutions to PKU management and learn updated research on PKU.
January 2019 Metabolic University, an interactive, didactic program designed to provide training to dietitians and other medical professionals working in the field of inborn errors of metabolism. The workshop focused heavily on experience-based small group participation and discussion, diet calculations and counseling in a digital learning format.
Met Ed Nutrition Training Online Resource MENTOR is a series of courses on the nutrition management of metabolic disorders. The courses are offered at no cost. MENTOR is ideal for new dietitians or those wanting a refresher course, as well as other health care professionals. Participants earn 2 CEUs from the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics for each completed course.
