At Colorado Conservatory of Dance, we unleash individual potential and invigorate community through dance. (Revised 2018, filed with Colorado Secretary of State)
Dance instruction, participation, performance, and community outreach. 19 instructors taught ballet, jazz, modern, contemporary and other offerings to over 400 students. Offered low-cost training opportunities to approximately 120 local professional dancers via choreographers residency program. Provided access to dance for special needs children through Ballet Expressions program of adaptive dance. Led in-school residencies for 600 at-risk elementary-aged students, and performed anti-bullying ballet for students at schools throughout north metro Denver area. Launched Compass Coaching Initiative, designed to prepare pre- and early-professional dancers for careers beyond internships and studio company residencies.
Through both live and streaming platforms due to venue closures, presented seven performances (1 fall, 4 spring, 2 summer) to a total audience of approximately 4,100.
Community education and outreach programs provided free in-school anti-bullying performances to 7 elementary schools (3,737 attending) throughout metropolitan Denver. Conducted arts-integrated learning residencies both virtually and in person for 5 elementary schools (703 students participating). Provided weekly adaptive dance education at Mt. Saint Vincent School for approximately 40 children who are victims of abuse, neglect, or abandonment. Taught free after-school ballet classes at two elementary schools with 45 children participating.
