Our KAHUBA Life Sanctuary Ranches offer ANIMALS in need of refuge or rehabilitation a forever home with heartfelt connection, high-quality balanced nutrition, preventative health care, and a purpose-filled existence in a natural setting with ample room to enjoy life. We treasure our animal's presence as teachers who naturally heal hearts and help forward human consciousness. To honor our NATURE KINGDOM, with deep reverence we commit to responsible earth management practices that preserve natural habitats and complex eco-communities, while fostering a balanced co-existence between all beings so life may flourish. KAHUBA sanctuaries are operated on land that belongs to the earth herself. We commit to caring for, listening to, stewarding, and living in harmony with the land and all the generations, cultures, races, ethnicities who came before us and come to us. Our current sanctuaries consist of a 35-acre country prairie ranch with hay crop farming, organic garden, greenhouse and ponds, plus an 11-acre forested mountain property with a mix of alpine, prairie and riparian ecosystems. We regularly utilize lovingly preserved historic landmark dwellings on both properties dating back to as early as 1856, each consciously updated using repurposed materials whenever possible to minimize our carbon footprint, and preserving our trees and clean air.And for the HUMANS that feel drawn to our sacred spaces, we introduce whole-being experiential education and new thought consciousness to explore our own unique paths of developing mind-body-emotion-spirit congruence promoting vibrant health, deep joy, limitless potential and loving connections with all. KAHUBA offers curated mindfulness events for youth, teens and adults of all ages with the assistance of qualified practitioners that include nature therapy in the countryside and deep forest, walking meditations, equine facilitated learning and other animal interaction, somatic and therapeutic body work, emotional trauma release through journaling, vibrational sound and energy healing, soul art, farm-to-table gatherings, healthy cooking classes, and more. We have set the intention to create a space where acknowledgment, childlike play, creativity, intention, co-creation, and community are encouraged and possible for many generations to come. KAHUBA was inspired by a village mentality and naturally weave in partnerships with other local nonprofit organizations offering rotational programs on a 61-acre Eco Center to learn about indigious values and sustainable communities, and to experience child-like wonder exploring an 145-acre outdoor Immersive Art Park with an integrated trail network and play zones that journey through human archetypes, symbology, curiosity and exploration of self. Our KAHUBA 501(c)3 Scholarship Program is committed to sharing natural, whole-being best practices benefiting both humans and animals focusing on core vascular health, and donates tools and training to other worthy nonprofit animal sanctuaries, human care facilities, and veterans organizations based on nominations. Statement of AcknowledgementKAHUBA acknowledges, recognizes, and offers gratitude to the ancestors of the land before us.To the Indigenous Nations that were the early protectors of our land, we thank the Ute, Arapahoe, Cheyenne & Kiowa Nations. KAHUBA commits to mindfully honoring and building relationships with the Indigenous groups who have gifted these properties with their energy and spirit. Our properties have a longstanding history of providing healing, nature, safety, and spiritually-centered gatherings for many. We offer our gratitude to the federally recognized previous stewards of the land. Thank you. We honor you. We speak of you often and are learning your history.Anti-Racism Commitment KAHUBA is committed to our Anti-Racism journey and will continue to train our staff, aiming to unlearn the impacts of systematic and environmental racism. We strive to be a community where inclusion means that everyone feels emotionally and physically safe on these properties, treating all beings with dignity and respect. As we invite all people outdoors to connect with nature and animals, opportunities for education around Anti-Racism are encouraged.
