IN 2019, AT ITS TWO SHELTERS AND ANIMAL LAW ENFORCEMENT DEPARTMENT, HSPPR RECEIVED 23,665 UNWANTED AND STRAY PETS, ADOPTED 12,446 ANIMALS TO LOVING HOMES, REUNITED 4,729 LOST PETS WITH THEIR FAMILIES, PROVIDED FOSTER CARE FOR 1,819 ANIMALS TO READY THEM FOR ADOPTION, VETERINARIANS PROVIDED MEDICAL EMERGENCY CARE FOR 408 ANIMALS, SPAYED AND NEUTERED 12,930 ANIMALS INCLUDING FERAL CATS AND PETS OF LOW INCOME OWNERS. ANIMAL LAW ENFORCEMENT (ALE) PROTECTS THE WELFARE OF COMPANION ANIMALS AND MAINTAINS PUBLIC SAFETY BY ENFORCING LOCAL AND STATE ANIMAL LAWS. ALE IS A CONTRACTUAL SERVICE PROVIDED BY HSPPR FOR TEN CITY AND COUNTY GOVERNMENTS. THIS PRIVATE/PUBLIC PARTNERSHIP PROVIDES THE BEST CARE FOR ANIMALS AND RELIABLE ENFORCEMENT. COMMUNITY OUTREACH: WHEN WE SHOW CHILDREN HOW TO BE RESPONSIBLE AND COMPASSIONATE, THEY GROW INTO CARING ADULTS WHO ARE COMMITTED TO THEIR PETS. OUR HUMANE EDUCATION PROGRAMS ENCOURAGE COMPASSION AND RESPECT FOR PEOPLE, ANIMALS, AND THE ENVIRONMENT. HSPPR OFFERS FIELD TRIPS AND SHELTER TOURS, CLASSROOM PRESENTATIONS, SEASONAL CHILDREN CAMPS, AND ADDITIONAL EDUCATIONAL SUPPORT, SUCH AS KIND NEWS MAGAZINE SUBSCRIPTIONS FOR QUALIFYING SCHOOLS. COMMUNITY OUTREACH DID 552 PRESENTATIONS AND REACHED 8,182 PEOPLE. (CONTINUED ON SCHEDULE O)
