MAKE A SPLASH: THE USA SWIMMING FOUNDATION'S MAKE A SPLASH INITIATIVE IS A NATIONAL CHILD-FOCUSED WATER SAFETY CAMPAIGN, WHICH AIMS TO PROVIDE THE OPPORTUNITY FOR EVERY CHILD IN AMERICA TO LEARN TO SWIM. THROUGH MAKE A SPLASH, THE USA SWIMMING FOUNDATION PARTNERS WITH MORE THAN 1,200 QUALIFIED LEARN-TO-SWIM PROVIDERS AND WATER SAFETY ADVOCATES ACROSS THE COUNTRY TO PROVIDE SWIMMING LESSONS AND EDUCATE CHILDREN AND THEIR FAMILIES ON THE IMPORTANCE OF LEARNING HOW TO SWIM. THE USA SWIMMING FOUNDATION HAS INVESTED MORE THAN $5.8 MILLION DOLLARS TO PROVIDE GRANTS TO QUALIFIED LEARN-TO-SWIM PROGRAMS, TO SPREAD NATIONAL AWARENESS, AND TO BRING TOGETHER STRATEGIC PARTNERS TO END DROWNING.
MAKE A SPLASH - TOUR: EACH YEAR, IN AN EFFORT TO RAISE NATIONAL AWARENESS ABOUT THE IMPORTANCE OF LEARNING TO SWIM, THE USA SWIMMING FOUNDATION EMBARKS ON THE MAKE A SPLASH TOUR PRESENTED BY PHILLIPS 66. THE TOUR VISITS CITIES ACROSS AMERICA TO SPREAD THE LIFESAVING MESSAGE OF LEARN TO SWIM. IN 2019, THE TOUR VISITED NEW YORK, NY, SAN DIEGO, CALIF., MEMPHIS, TENN, AND CORPUS CHRISTI, TEXAS, BRINGING THE TOTAL NUMBER OF CITIES VISITED OVER THE PAST 11 YEARS TO 54. TOUR STOPS ARE DESIGNED TO PROMOTE THE IMPORTANCE OF LEARNING TO SWIM TO THE LOCAL COMMUNITY, AS WELL AS TO PROMOTE MAKE A SPLASH LOCAL PARTNER LOCAL SWIM LESSON PROVIDER ORGANIZATIONS THAT TEACH SWIMMING LESSONS. THE 2019 MAKE A SPLASH TOUR PRESENTED BY PHILLIPS 66 WAS A GREAT SUCCESS, GENERATING NATIONAL AND LOCAL MEDIA COVERAGE FOR THE IMPORTANCE OF LEARNING TO SWIM.
U.S. NATIONAL SWIM TEAM: THE USA SWIMMING NATIONAL TEAM RECEIVED $1,133,750 FOR THE CONTINUED GROWTH AND DEVELOPMENT OF OUR ATHLETES AND COACHES, WHO SET THE WORD STANDARD FOR EXCELLENCE IN THE POOL YEAR AFTER YEAR, DECADE AFTER DECADE.
