USA SWIMMING IS THE NATIONAL GOVERNING BODY FOR THE SPORT OF SWIMMING. WE ADMINISTER COMPETITIVE SWIMMING IN ACCORDANCE WITH THE OLYMPIC & AMATEUR SPORTS ACT. WE PROVIDE PROGRAMS AND SERVICES FOR OUR MEMBERS, SUPPORTERS, AFFILIATES, AND THE INTERESTED PUBLIC. WE VALUE THESE MEMBERS OF THE SWIMMING COMMUNITY, AND THE STAFF AND VOLUNTEERS WHO SERVE THEM. USA SWIMMING IS THE NATIONAL GOVERNING BODY FOR THE SPORT OF SWIMMING. WE ADMINISTER COMPETITIVE SWIMMING IN ACCORDANCE WITH THE OLYMPIC & AMATEUR SPORTS ACT.
NATIONAL TEAM: WITH FOUR MAJOR INTERNATIONAL COMPETITIONS THIS SUMMER, USA SWIMMING PROVED ONCE AGAIN TO BE STRONG ON THE GLOBAL STAGE. USA SWIMMING ATHLETES WON OVER 130 MEDALS OVER THE SUMMER, LEADING THE WAY WITH 23 MEDALS IN OLYMPIC EVENTS AT THE WORLD CHAMPIONSHIPS AND SETTING FIVE WORLD RECORDS. THE OTHER EVENTS THIS SUMMER INCLUDED THE WORLD UNIVERSITY GAMES, THE PAN AMERICAN GAMES AND THE WORLD JUNIOR CHAMPIONSHIPS.
EVENTS & MEMBER SERVICES: USA SWIMMING HOSTED MULTIPLE EVENTS ACROSS MANY LEVELS OF THE SPORT, HIGHLIGHTED BY THE PHILLIPS 66 NATIONAL CHAMPIONSHIPS IN STANFORD, CALIF., WHICH WAS BROADCAST LIVE ON NBC NETWORKS. THE TOYOTA U.S. OPEN, HELD IN DECEMBER, WAS ALSO FEATURED ON NBC. OTHER CHAMPIONSHIP-LEVEL EVENTS FEATURED ON TV AND/OR ON LIVE WEBCAST INCLUDED THE TYR PRO SWIM SERIES, THE OPEN WATER NATIONAL CHAMPIONSHIPS, THE SPEEDO JUNIOR NATIONAL CHAMPIONSHIPS, FUTURES CHAMPIONSHIPS, AND THE SPEEDO SECTIONALS. USA SWIMMING ALSO PROVIDED SUPPORT FOR OTHER CHAMPIONSHIP EVENTS SUCH AS THE ZONE CHAMPIONSHIPS AND IM XTREME GAMES.
COMMERCIAL: USA SWIMMING HAD A STRONG YEAR IN 2019, HIGHLIGHTED BY HOSTING MULTIPLE NATIONAL EVENTS AND THE U.S. TEAM WINNING 27 MEDALS AT THE 2019 WORLD CHAMPIONSHIPS IN SOUTH KOREA, 45 MEDALS AT THE PAN AMERICAN GAMES IN PERU AND 40 MEDALS AT THE WORLD UNIVERSITY GAMES IN ITALY. IN 2019, NBC, NBCSN AND THE OLYMPIC CHANNEL AIRED BROADCASTS OF THE TYR PRO SWIM SERIES, THE PHILLIPS 66 NATIONAL CHAMPIONSHIPS AND THE TOYOTA U.S. OPEN.THE COMMERCIAL DIVISION IS SPLIT INTO TEAMS WITH DISTINCT, YET COMPLEMENTARY FUNCTIONS IN SUPPORT OF THE NGB. PARTNERSHIPS & EVENT MARKETING: THE FIFTH CONSECUTIVE #SWIMBIZ CONFERENCE WAS HELD, OFFERING MARKETING AND SPONSORSHIP GUIDANCE TO MEMBERSHIP. NEW SHORT- AND LONG-TERM CORPORATE PARTNERS WERE SIGNED TO ASSIST IN REVENUE GENERATION, AND MANY OF THOSE PARTNERS PROVIDED RETAIL ACTIVATIONS AND HOSPITALITY OFFERINGS AT MAJOR EVENTS TO DRIVE INTEREST IN THE SPORT AND THE ATHLETES.COMMUNICATIONS: USA SWIMMING'S SOCIAL MEDIA PLATFORMS SAW AN AVERAGE OF 15.6% GROWTH IN FOLLOWERS, WHILE THE KICKSET PODCAST SERIES RECORDED NEARLY 35,000 DOWNLOADS. CREATIVE SERVICES: USA SWIMMING'S SIGNATURE DESK SHOW, DECK PASS LIVE, SHOT LIVE FROM ALL MAJOR DOMESTIC AND INTERNATIONAL MEETS, SURPASSED MORE THAN 4 MILLION 3-SECOND VIEWS AND 1.4 MILLION 10-SECOND VIEWS. FURTHER, OVER 500,000 VIEWERS TUNED IN TO WATCH THE SECOND SEASON OF THE OFF THE BLOCKS DIGITAL SERIES. USA SWIMMING'S AWARD WINNING SPLASH MAGAZINE WAS DELIVERED FOUR TIMES TO OVER 300,000 HOUSEHOLDS.BUSINESS INTELLIGENCE AND DIGITAL PLATFORMS: INVESTMENTS WERE MADE IN CUSTOMER RELATIONSHIP MANAGEMENT (CRM) AND A WEBSITE REDESIGN TO ENHANCE USA SWIMMING'S DIGITAL OFFERINGS AND COMMUNICATION WITH ITS MEMBERS. DATA ANALYTICS CONTINUES TO BE USED TO UNDERSTAND THE SWIM CONSUMER AND TO BETTER SUPPORT AND SERVICE MEMBERS.
