Organizations Filed Purposes:
Cultivando's mission is to cultivate community leadership to advance health equity through collaboration, advocacy and policy change. Cultivando is a leadership, advocacy, and capacity building organization that works in collaboration with Latino community leaders and with agency partners. Our work includes culturally-relevant training, building collaboration and advocacy around equity, inclusion, HEAL and other self- identified community issues.
General Program - Promotora Training, Abriendo Puertas, HEAL (Healthy Places): Our programs are rooted in the belief that the best community nonprofit work is led by those impacted by the issues, and that the best programs and policies are developed with community members at the table and meaningfully engaged. We work collaboratively to build health equity and community capacity for positive policy and systems change. We offer Promotora Trainings for community members who wish to expand their leadership and civic engagement. Abriendo Puertas is a training for home-base childcare providers. HEAL and Healthy Places programming promotes culturally relevant and accessible healthy eating and active living opportunities.
Education and Outreach: As a health equity organization, we support the emotional health and well-being of our community through our promotora-led Salud Emocional workshops. We conduct outreach in our community to ensure that they are informed about needed services and to engage them in making city-level decisions that impact their lives. The Latino Engagement Task is an opportunity for community members to meet and share ideas and concerns with elected leaders.
TA for PA Organizations: We offer training for mission-aligned organizations, institutions, and groups who wish to meaningfully engage the Latino community by integrating their voice and leadership.
