TO FOSTER A GENERATION OF EDUCATED, SELF-RELIANT AND COMPASSIONATE ROLE MODELS FOR CAMBODIA, BY PROMOTING CHILD RIGHTS AND OFFERING 21ST CENTURY EDUCATION AND OPPORTUNITIES TO THE POOREST CHILDREN IN RURAL CAMBODIA.
THE CHILD WELLBEING PROGRAM ENSURES CHILDREN'S BASIC NEEDS ARE MET THROUGH THE PROVISION OF MATERIAL GOODS, COUNSELING, NUTRITION AND HEALTH CARE. IN THE PAST YEAR, OUR SUCCESSES INCLUDE: - WE HAVE SUPPORTED 253 CHILDREN THIS PERIOD - AS PART OF OUR APPROACH TO REDUCING DEPENDENCY THIS PERIOD WE HAVE TRANSFERRED 80 CHILDREN/YOUNG PEOPLE FROM HIGH-INTENSITY SOCIAL WORK SERVICES TO REDUCED INTENSITY EDUCATIONAL SERVICES. IN ADDITION TO THIS, WE HAVE ALSO SAFELY EXITED 122 CHILDREN/YOUNG PEOPLE FROM CFI SERVICES - WE HAVE REINTEGRATED 11 YOUNG PEOPLE FROM ORPHANAGES BACK TO FAMILY-BASED CARE - WE HAVE DELIVERED HARM PREVENTION WORKSHOPS TO 1150 PEOPLE IN TWO COMMUNES OF EK PHNOM DISTRICT, COLLECTING DATA FOR TWO PIECES OF FORMAL RESEARCH - PREVENTED 10 CHILDREN FROM GOING TO RCI - COMPLETED 232 CSI ASSESSMENTS
EDUCATION: AT OUR LEARNING CENTER, AND THROUGH COLLABORATION WITH LOCAL PUBLIC SCHOOLS, CFI'S SUPPLEMENTARY EDUCATION PROGRAM PROVIDES CHILDREN AND YOUTH WITH THE KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS THEY NEED TO FIND WORK AND LIVE FRUITFUL LIVES. SUCCESSES THIS YEAR INCLUDE: - OF THE STUDENTS WE SUPPORT, 100% HAVE REMAINED IN PUBLIC SCHOOL - WE HAVE SUPPORTED 6 YOUNG PEOPLE IN VOCATIONAL TRAINING - WE HAVE SUPPORTED 12 CHILDREN TO REINTEGRATE BACK TO PUBLIC SCHOOL - 19 STUDENTS WERE SUPPORTED IN UNIVERSITY, WITH 4 COMPLETING HIGHER EDUCATION AWARDS
THROUGH OUR SUSTAINABILITY AND COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT PROGRAM WE COLLABORATED WITH FAMILIES, COMMUNITY MEMBERS, LOCAL AUTHORITIES AND PARTNER ORGANIZATIONS TO STRENGTHEN CHILD SAFETY AND PROTECTION MECHANISMS AT THE LOCAL AND NATIONAL LEVEL. WE FOSTER SELF-SUFFICIENCY AND INCOME GENERATION INITIATIVES AMONG THE STUDENTS' FAMILIES WHEREVER POSSIBLE, SUPPORTING FAMILIES TO IDENTIFY SOLUTIONS TO IMPROVE THEIR ECONOMIC STATUS. DURING THE FISCAL YEAR, WE HAD THE FOLLOWING SUCCESSES: - CONDUCTED 5 CONSUMER GROUP MEETINGS WITH AN AVERAGE OF 6 PARTICIPANTS - CONDUCTED 5 STUDENT PARTICIPATION GROUP MEETINGS, WITH AN AVERAGE OF 15 STUDENTS - CONDUCTED 42 SOCIAL WORK WORKSHOPS, COVERING A RANGE OF TOPICS SUCH AS POSITIVE PARENTING, ALCOHOL REDUCTION, SAFE MIGRATION, AND GENDER AND SEXUALITY. - THIS PERIOD WE MADE 3719 BARS OF SOAP. WE USED 1470 BARS IN OUR COMMUNITY PROGRAMS AND MADE 683 FROM SELLING THE SOAP. - DURING THIS FISCAL YEAR, CFI TRAINED 26 LOCAL AUTHORITY STAFF IN HOW TO RECOGNIZE SIGNS OF A CHILD EXPERIENCING VIOLENCE.
