WITH THE ONSET OF THE COVID-19 PANDEMIC, THE CHORALE CEASED ALL OPERATIONS ON MARCH 13, 2020, AND DID NOT FULLY RESUME BUSINESS FOR THE REMAINDER OF THE FISCAL YEAR. AS A PERFORMING ARTS ORGANIZATION, THE CHORALE WAS UNABLE TO PERFORM AS THEATERS WERE SHUTTERED, SCHOOLS WERE CLOSED, AND ALL TOURING WAS HALTED. DURING THE FALL OF 2019 AND PRIOR TO THE WORLDWIDE SHUTDOWN, HOWEVER, THE CHORALE WAS ABLE TO PERFORM 2 PUBLIC CONCERTS IN THE DENVER METRO AREA WITH ATTENDANCE OF 2,390 ADULTS AND CHILDREN; 7 CONCERTS IN THE DENVER METRO AREA WITH ATTENDANCE OF 23,498 ADULTS AND CHILDREN; 305 CHORALE MEMBERS RECEIVED 27,192 HOURS OF PERFORMANCE AND MUSIC TRAINING; AND, 380 ELEMENTARY SCHOOL STUDENTS IN UNDER-RESOURCED SCHOOLS RECEIVED 5,700 HOURS OF PERFORMANCE AND MUSIC TRAINING.
