THE PURPOSE OF THE COMMUNITY MINISTRY FOOD BANK IS TO PROVIDE EMERGENCY FOOD AND SUPPORT FOR FAMILIES AND INDIVIDUALS WHO ARE IN NEED OF ASSISTANCE.
IN 2020, WE SAW A 50% INCREASE IN THE NUMBER OF PEOPLE WE SAW AT THE FOOD PANTRY AND A 65% INCREASE IN THE NUMBER OF CHILDREN USING THE CLOTHING BANK OVER THE PREVIOUS YEAR DUE TO COVID. WE PROVIDED 818,865 POUNDS OF FOOD ASSISTANCE TO 47,680 INDIVIDUALS, 400 CHILDREN RECEIVED SCHOOL SUPPLIES, 600 FAMILIES WERE GIVEN THANKSGIVING AND CHRISTMAS FOOD BOXES AND 420 CHILDREN RECEIVED CHRISTMAS GIFTS. COLLABORATIONS WITH OTHER NON-PROFITS COMING ON-SITE TO PROVIDE SERVICES HELPED US IMPACT THE LIVES OF 53,151 INDIVIDUALS.
ENERGY ASSISTANCE: IN CONJUNCTION WITH ENERGY OUTREACH COLORADO, COMMUNITY MINISTRIES ADMINISTERS ENERGY BILL ASSISTANCE FOR CLIENTS WHO HAVE OVERDUE ENERGY BILLS. DURING 2020, THE ORGANIZATION ASSISTED 50 HOUSEHOLDS WITH THEIR ENERGY BILLS, WITH AN AVERAGE BILL OF 495.
