Organizations Filed Purposes:
To assist high school Speech and Debate programs, students and parents with training, coaching and fundraising processes and efforts. Continue banking, management and oversight of extracurricular finanical operations and growth planning. Via ETC branch, continue to assist with fundraising processes and efforts. The crossover between programs and student bases are significant.
DEFT: Traveled to and participated in 2 national level and 15 in-state speech & debate tournaments. Approximately 190 students competed at Berkeley CA, Cheyenne WY, Tournament of Championships(virtual), National Tournament(virtual), and Colorado tournaments in the Denver Metro area. There were a few less national level and local tournaments and travel late in the spring because of Covid-19. DEFT also helped organize, recruit, and run the virtual theater summer camp which was attended by speech and debate students as well as theater students.
ETC: Produced 10 productions this year which included the rehearsals and building of the sets, with 25 performances. Approximately 300 students participated in Summer stock, Fall Play, Theatre Level 1 performance, Theatre Level 2 performance, Theatre Level 3 performance, Duet competition, Spring Musical, and Black Box Performances. Senior projects were canceled because of Covid. Organized,recruited and ran a virtual theater summer camp which utilitzed guest artists and coaches teaching in a virtual environment. The resulting virtual performance was creative and unique.
There has been very little activity so far with Creative Write (CW)and Instrumental Music (IM) other than us providing a holding place for them for approximately $6,700 (CW) and $3,700 (IM) in contributions. We expect the activity will pick up once Covid restrictions are gone and coaches, students, and guest artists can again meet together.
