SUPPORTED BY OUR EVER-INCREASING DONOR BASE, DPS FOUNDATION GRANTED OVER $6.5 MILLION TO DPS FOR PRIORITY PROGRAMS AND CRITICAL NEEDS IN 2019-20.THANKS TO OUR DONORS' GENEROSITY, DPS IS MAKING STRIDES FOR MORE THAN 90,000 STUDENTS IN DENVER. THE DENVER PUBLIC SCHOOLS' CLASS OF 2019 POSTED THE DISTRICT'S HIGHEST ON-TIME GRADUATION RATE YET AND GREW BY MORE THAN 300 STUDENTS OVER THE PRIOR YEAR'S GRADUATING CLASS. ACCORDING TO DATA RELEASED BY THE COLORADO DEPARTMENT OF EDUCATION, DPS' ON-TIME GRADUATION RATE, OR THE PERCENTAGE OF STUDENTS WHO GRADUATE IN FOUR YEARS, CLIMBED FROM 70.2% LAST YEAR TO 70.9%. FIVE YEARS AGO, THE DISTRICT'S FOUR-YEAR GRADUATION RATE STOOD AT 62.8%. DPS HAS SEEN STRONG DISTRICT-WIDE GAINS IN THE GRADUATING CLASS OF LATINO AND AFRICAN-AMERICAN STUDENTS. THE ON-TIME GRADUATION RATE AMONG AFRICAN-AMERICAN STUDENTS HAS INCREASED FROM 62.4% IN 2014 TO 68.3% THIS YEAR, AND OVER THAT SAME TIME THE GRADUATION RATE FOR LATINO STUDENTS HAS RISEN FROM 58.2% TO 68.0%.
