Organizations Filed Purposes:
All monies realized by the corporation shall be used exclusively for the operation, maintenance and development of property used to provide affordable housing to individuals or families of low income and to otherwise assist in the provision of affordable housing to such persons.
The sole mission of Emmaus Housing is to provide affordable rental housing to low-income families and individuals.
Five apartment units are occupied by individuals and families in the low- and very-low-income brackets: in 2020, a family of 7, a family of 2, two couples and one single person. Personal relationships with tenants provide practical and emotional support. Each tenant household is invited to have one member on the Board of Directors, empowering tenants to participate in decisions affecting their lives. One tenant chose to serve on the Board in 2020. In addition, a four-bedroom house is rented to the Denver Catholic Worker to house people currently experiencing homelessness. One family of 2 and 2 single persons lived in the house in 2020.
