COLORADO READS BOOK DRIVE (CBR):PARTICIPATING BUSINESSES HOST DONATION BOXES ON-SITE AND ENCOURAGE EMPLOYEES AND CUSTOMERS TO DONATE NEW AND GENTLY USED CHILDREN'S BOOKS. THE BOOKS ARE DISTRIBUTED TO SCHOOLS, LIBRARIES, DOCTORS' OFFICES AND CHILD CARE CENTERS IN COMMUNITIES ACROSS COLORADO.EPIC COLLECTED AND DISTRIBUTED 25,000 BOOKS IN 2013, THE PROJECT'S INAUGURAL YEAR. THE PROJECT HAS GROWN EXPONENTIALLY EVER SINCE. IN 2017, EPIC SUCCESSFULLY REACHED ITS GOAL OF 500,000 BOOKS COLLECTED AND DISTRIBUTED IN THE FIRST 5 YEARS OF THE PROJECT (2013-2017).
FAMILY FRIENDLY BUSINESS PRACTICES (FF+):EPIC LEADS A STRONG COALITION OF STATE AND LOCAL PARTNERS TO UNDERSTAND AND PROMOTE FAMILY-FRIENDLY WORKPLACES. PARTICIPATING IN THE EPIC FAMILY-FRIENDLY INITIATIVE SUPPORTS THE DEVELOPMENT OF HAPPIER, HEALTHIER EMPLOYEES WHO ARE MORE DEDICATED, LOYAL AND PRODUCTIVE.BUSINESS ENGAGEMENT IN THE EPIC FAMILY-FRIENDLY INITIATIVE IS SUPPORTED BY THE FAMILY-FRIENDLY WORKPLACE TOOLKIT, A RESOURCE GUIDE HIGHLIGHTING TARGETED WORKPLACE POLICIES, AND A FAMILY-FRIENDLY WORKPLACE ASSESSMENT THAT IDENTIFIES NEEDS, CHALLENGES AND PRIORITIES FOR EMPLOYERS INTERESTED IN SUPPORTING WORKING PARENTS.
CHILD CARE CONTRIBUTION TAX CREDIT (CCTC):COLORADO LEADS THE NATION IN PROVIDING TAX-ADVANTAGED TOOLS FOR CHILD CARE. EPIC PROMOTES THIS UNIQUE PUBLIC, PRIVATE PARTNERSHIP AND WORKS YEAR-ROUND TO INCREASE UTILIZATION AMONG TAXPAYERS AND PROVIDERS. THE CONTRIBUTIONS ARE USED TO ESTABLISH AND OPERATE LICENSED CHILD CARE FACILITIES, FUND SCHOLARSHIPS FOR FAMILIES WHO NEED HELP PAYING FOR CHILD CARE AND SUBSIDIZE THE COSTS OF PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT FOR INDIVIDUALS WORKING IN THE CHILD CARE CENTERS.
