Mirror Image Arts uses theatre to work with young people (ages 8-21) to build their social-emotional wellbeing. We partner with schools, community organizations, and juvenile justice centers to bring our programming to them.
In FY2020, we completed our 10 year strategic vision and have begun building out programming in order to serve youth ages 2nd-12th grade. We also completed the year having served 739 youth and 240 youth-serving adults. We provided workshops to 52 youth development professionals. We provided 54 programs at 45 sites. Our 2019 Evaluation Results from FY2020 capture youth perception on critical program practices proven to lead to high quality youth programming. This tool also helps us evaluate our progress in creating the developmental relationships between youth and staff necessary for youth to see our staff as trusted adults in their lives. Research shows that a trusted adult and developmental relationships are linked to statistically significant higher levels of social-emotional skill(SES)development.
