TRC demonstrates how we can work together with existing infrastructure effective use of resources, to achieve sustained employment and purpose to build healthy vibrant communities.
TRC seeks and fosters partnerships between businesses nonprofit communities, building strong, supportive networks to guide individuals from communities of Poverty Homelessness to stability and success.
Supported Employment Program SEP Working with the business community to overcome obstacles to employment, such as people experiencing homelessness, veterans, ex-offenders and individuals facing medical or mental health challenges. The SEP helps participants secure competitive employment, and provides long-term support to help them stay employed. SEP also provides EmployerPartners with training/support to incorporate principles of trauma-informed care and safe, structured supervision throughout their workplace. Assisted 184 people gain employment..
Reciprocal Community Resource Network RCRN Utilizing existing resources, TRC connects its participants to the medical and mental health community, food and nutrition education, family wellness, spiritual camaraderie, avenues for creative expression, healthy animal interaction and more. By decreasing isolation, the RCRN allows participants to find their way back to health and stability. To serve more people during the pandemic, RCRN utilized Table street outreach. Table Outreach provides computer access and opportunity to our most vulnerable citizens. Sitting at tables on the street and equipped with laptops, TRC staff helped 937 folks with anything for which they need computer access, including applications for stimulus checks, jobs, benefits including Unemployment, and other needed resources. Early in 2019, TRC hit the streets connecting to 3,700 people in the unhoused community directly to educate them on COVID-19, help with gathering Census Data 1,850 people and voter registration 1,150 people and distributed masks and other personal hygiene supplies.
Escape the Petri Dish CHALLENGE unsafe congregate sheltering for un-housed individuals AND the need for disabled and/or older adults to leave nursing homes for safety, health and independence. TRC with its project partners connects un-housed individuals interested in employment in the personal care profession and individuals interested in transitioning from nursing homes/facilities to independent living. In 2020 project employed 13 unhoused folks as caregivers and connected them all with housing and transitioned 9 individuals with disabilities from nursing facilities or homelessness into housing with care attendents.
