Organizations Filed Purposes: TO CREATE AN EQUITABLE EDUCATION SYSTEM WHERE LEARNING THAT HAPPENS EVERYWHERE IS FULLY ACCESSIBLE TO ALL YOUNG PEOPLE.

OUT OF SCHOOL LEARNING: RESCHOOL ADAPTED ITS BLUEPRINT4SUMMERCO WEBSITE (www.blueprint4.com/co) TO MEET THE NEEDS OF FAMILIES DURING THE COVID-19 PANDEMIC BY ADAPTING THE WEBSITE TO HIGHLIGHT ONLINE PROGRAMMING. RESCHOOL SIMULTANEOUSLY DESIGNED AND DEVELOPED A RESOURCE, THE DISCOVER LEARNING RESOURCE (www.reschoolcolorado.org/discover) TO REPLACE BLUEPRINT. DISCOVER HIGHLIGHTS PROGRAMMING AVAILABLE ANY TIME YOUNG PEOPLE ARE NOT IN SCHOOL, NOT JUST DURING SUMMER, AS WELL AS ONLINE, IN-PERSON PROGRAMMING AND ACTIVITIES THAT CAN BE DONE AT HOME. RESCHOOL ALSO DISTRIBUTED $47,714 IN PROVIDER AND LEARNING DOLLARS TO ELIMINATE THE FINANCIAL BARRIER OF ATTENDING OUT OF SCHOOL PROGRAMMING AND ACCESSING LEARNING MATERIALS FOR YOUNG PEOPLE ACROSS COLORADO.

LEARNER ADVOCATE NETWORK (LAN): IN 2020, RESCHOOL TRANSITIONED ITS LAN TO A FULLY VIRTUAL MODEL SO THAT IT COULD CONTINUE SERVING FAMILIES THROUGHOUT THE COVID-19 PANDEMIC. THE LAN CONTINUED SERVING AROUND 55 FAMILIES AT A TIME AND RECEIVED NEW REFERRALS THROUGHOUT THE YEAR. ADVOCATES IN THE LAN PROVIDED CRITICAL SERVICES TO FAMILIES INCLUDING LEARNING/CRISIS MANAGEMENT, TRANSITION TO REMOTE AND HYBRID LEARNING, SOCIAL EMOTIONAL SUPPORT, PRIVACY ISSUES WITH ONLINE LEARNING, AND SUPPORT FOR HIGH SCHOOL STUDENTS AND TRANSITION AFTER GRADUATION DURING THE PANDEMIC. KIDS RANGE FROM NEWBORN TO 18 YEARS OLD IN THE PROGRAM AND LIVE IN THE DENVER METRO AREA.

LEARNING COMMUNITY INITIATIVE (LCI): THROUGH THE LCI, RESCHOOL RESOURCES THE NATURAL NETWORKS FAMILIES ALREADY DEPEND ON TO MAKE DECISIONS ABOUT THEIR CHILDREN'S LEARNING. WE PARTNER WITH THE FAMILIES IN THE LCI TO LEARN HOW THESE NATURAL NETWORKS FORM AND FUNCTION AND WHAT IMPACT THEY HAVE IN THEIR COMMUNITIES. RESCHOOL PILOTED THIS CONCEPT IN 2020 BY WORKING WITH TWO-PARENT LED AND TWO YOUTH-LED GROUPS. EACH INDIVIDUAL RECEIVED A STIPEND FOR PARTICIPATING IN THE LCI, AND EACH GROUP RECEIVED $1,000 IN LEARNING DOLLARS TO SPLIT AMONGST THE GROUP HOWEVER THEY CHOSE. ONE OF OUR BIGGEST LEARNINGS FROM THIS FIRST PILOT IS THAT THE LEARNING DOLLARS EXTENDED PAST THE GROUP PARTICIPATING AS THE ITEMS BOUGHT WITH THE DOLLARS WERE OFTEN USED BY OTHERS IN THE COMMUNITY.
